I got a small infinity army along with two friends (panO and haqqislam).
And I picked Ariadna because of the cool Vetaran Khazak models (I was reading and playing metro 2033 & Last light at the time!)
Anyways, we haven't had a chance to play yet, so I'm just gonna ask if what I got is any good, and maybe how they should be used.

I got:

2 veteran khazaks, one with a hmg, the other is my leader.
1 scout with an ojotnik rifle
2 moblots, one with a small (?) shotgun and an assault rifle/ap rifle. and the other is my field medic.

I know Ariadna can field lots of cheap troops, but I obviously didn't! ;P

If your friend built there list with any Order efficiency, your a dead man. Great units but there going to be just standing there, with out the border to back them up. The key to Infinity is movement and placement, you want Order so you can circle around to the models back side so you can shoot him with normal rolls unstead of risking a FtF check. It not about cheap troops, it is about bring enough to the table so your troops can do there jobs.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

First thing, stop, now think. Think about what type of army do you want run, what do you like about Aridana? If you have 40k minis see if you can run some games with them as proxies to get a better idea of what you like.
The nice thing about this game is that there is no must have unit, so you can go with what you like or what minis you think look boss.

So this is your list then?
ARIADNA
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

GROUP 1 (Regular: 5/Irregular: 0):

VETERAN KAZAKS Lieutenant (CH: Mimetism) AP Rifle, Light Flamethrower / Pistol, CCW. (47)
VETERAN KAZAKS (CH: Mimetism) AP HMG, Light Flamethrower / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 61)
SCOUT Ojótnik, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (26)
MOBLOT Panzerfaust, Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (1 | 31)
MOBLOT AP Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (34)

3 SWC | 199 Points
ARMY CODE: eNozNlRVNbS0VDVWNTRQM1EzrAFSRiDKVM0QRBlDBI3VjNUMVctMAORXCe0=

It's doable, but I'd feel way uncomfortable about having 5 orders in 200 points. Plus you have 0 answers to stealth. You need some chain rifles or flamethrowers in there.
By dropping a Moblot, you can get a much more flexible list with enough orders to actually do something:

Camouflaged Ariadna Scout

@ Smarteye that first list won't be quite right as a moblot paramedic only has rifle/ light shotgun. Also 2 x vek kazaks plus a camo marker with mines is actually a pretty good answer to stealth imo. Two guys with mimetism and sixth sense level 2 and a flamethrower plus decent ph if they need to dodge will certainly help against camo attacks and mines can be used to funnel camo units away from the moblots. Also in your 2nd list volunteers are only AVA 2 in a generic list.

@ OP I think its an interesting list. My first list for Ariadna was basically 'stuff i liked' but i still managed to squeeze some line kazaks in for cheap orders. My main gripe with your list is the Scout but at least you've got one of the cheaper options. But if you're just starting out jumping straight in with 200 point lists probably isn't the way to go. And i would try to get some games in with basic trrops at lower points before deciding which stuff to get. But i'd be interested to hear what your experience is if you run the list, i'm sure people will be pleasantly surprised how much damage a vet kazak with 6 orders can do!

Edit: Actually looking at it the scout (26 pts) is the same cost as a foxtrot with rifle and line kazak with rifle. So you keep your camo infiltrator with mines and gain an extra body, which is also a 2nd Lt option in the list.

hopefully I'll survive better because we're all new to the game, and my buddies also have around 5-6 models

thanks for the headsup on stealth units and such, I'm totally green to Infinity apart from reading the rules and watching a few batreps

As a fairly new Ariadna player myself, I've learned a few things about the faction that have been successful for me:

1) Cheap orders are your friends. Ariadna has a lot of great powerhouse models that you will want to dump orders into, but you need the orders to do it! 3 Line Kazaks (one of which is my Lt.) is the beginning of each of my lists.

2) Camo is one of our strengths, play to it. I'm not saying you need to spam camo (though I do), but just that having a few models with camo can be very powerful. I have managed to land many kills with combat camo attacks from my tank hunters, SAS, Uxia, antipodes, chasseurs, etc. Crippling your opponent's order pool in a first turn alpha strike is almost guaranteeing a win.

3) This is more of a general tip for list building, but make sure every model has a role while also having some redundancy in your list. For example I take two tank hunters (one autocannon, one AP HMG) so I have options for long range weaponry. I take a chasseur, Uxia and a SAS to give me three infiltrators who can be where I need them to either complete objectives or prevent my opponent from completing his. I take antipodes for mobility and sensor, etc.

As to your list specifically:

1) Love veteran kazaks. The T2 rifle option with the x-visor is brutal at all ranges and can get just about any job done. He can engage at medium to long range or get up close with the flamethrower. Having sixth sense level 2 is also pretty nifty, as Ariadna ironically has few ways to deal with stealth. If need be, he is a good option to go in and force a camo marker to react or be discovered. For a heavy infantry the vet has great speed with 4-4 movement, making him faster than some medium infantry! I've never run 2, or the HMG option. IMO a tank hunter is a better buy simply for the combat camo attacks, but a bs13 HMG that is decently fast and tough to kill is nothing to scoff at. My vet kazak with the T2 rifle is another staple of my lists, really can't go wrong with any of the loadouts though.

2) I would personally run the AP sniper rifle over the ojotnik if you have the points/SWC. The ojotnik has a bit higher damage, but the sniper rifle gives you a range band bonus. Either way you get an infiltrator with mines which is an awesome combo. You could also proxy this guy as the foxtrot sniper with the same loadout for 9 points cheaper! Those 9 points are a line kazak (read one more order).

3) Haven't tried moblots myself, but they seem solid enough. Paramedic is a pretty good choice for Ariadna because we tend to have a lot of models with higher than normal physicality. Using doctors and paramedics can be a bit tricky as they're usually in a spot to get shot at if they're trying to patch a buddy up. I've gotten the best use out of my doctor by having him hunker down prone behind my big guns and healing when needed. Looking more closely at moblots, I like the panzerfaust option as well as the MSV option.

These are just my thoughts based on the games I've played. Like you, I was drawn to the beautiful model that is the veteran kazak. Best of luck to you and welcome to Ariadna, the only real men in Infinity

P.S. if your Haqqislam player runs a Lasiq with a viral sniper rifle KILL IT TURN ONE. That thing will mince your veteran kazaks. If your opponent is smart, he will hold it in reserve and deploy it in a way to start shooting turn one. Do whatever it takes to eliminate it turn one and you will be able to breathe a lot easier and also gain the advantage at long range.

Thank you so much Dendarien!
And yes veteran kazaks are super cool. Might get some line kazaks and do the foxtrot sniper.

And thanks for the heads up, I do think he has a viral sniper! D:
