I'm new to the whole wargaming table top world, but I was immediately drawn to the 'Nids from my StarCraft days. I love them aestetically, and am currently writing out some fluff for my army. (I.e. where they evolved from, what major planetary systems they have hidden in, why certain units have deeloped the way they have, etc...)

I use my own paint scheme so that I can have complete poetic license with the fluff, and am naming my army "Hive Fleet Garuda". If you want a general idea of the colors, just image search for "Garuda" and you will see that it is a terrifying looking hornet named for an Hindu God. (Ironically the God of good intentions who hates all things evil... Hoping to incorporate some form of those beliefs into the Hive, such as SM, IG, Necro, etc. are all forces of "evil" that the Hive perceives as a threat which must be eliminated)

I'll probably be posting pics of the models as I finish them, and I hope to receive feedback on how I can develop as a painter/modeler/tactician. I hate that the current 'Nid lists almost entirely rely on Terv's, and am trying out a whole bunch of combinations to see if I can carve out my own niche.

Other than that, I cant wait to get involved with the community.

Nids are rumored to get a new codex and models in November. Keep an eye out @_@

I've been reading about the rumors, and like most things, if it pans out, it'll be awesome... That being said, I wholeheartedly expect 95%+ to be nonsense wish-lists
