I take the Rokkit Launchas in the boyz groups because my friend plays a two Land Raider redeemer list that features Belial and Lightning Claw termies and I've gotten soo tired of just bum rushing the tanks in flamer fire that I wanted to be able to just stand at around 24 inches making him think about running at my boyz. He camps up on key objectives in a corner with a deck chair scout unit or two daring me to run in there. With only one of my scoring units left in a roll dice and tie game it all came down to my Big Mek rolling double 5's, flying across the board to the deck chair Scouts on turn 7 and initiating an assault, and challenging the 'umie serg. I had finally managed to beat him. The gametime of my list has gotten up to 7 hours. Being a friendly game the pace is slow between breaks and stuff but I want to reduce my model count without getting too far from the scrappy list of boyz you see above.

I'm going to have three battlewagon and three if not four trukks soon. With the reduction in boyz I'm thinking about picking up a full unit of tankbustas and if I have points leftover topping my lootas off at 15 if not two units of 9. I don't want to get away from 1W models, I feel it makes us numerous, and if I add the vehicles I might actually be saving more orks for the krumpin part of the game simply by giving my enemy something else to crack before I get there.

What holes really need filled if this list starts piling into vehicles?

Trukk lists are hugely dependent on getting first turn, as the trukks are very easy to pop

A Battlewagon list could be a good balance. You can really stack up the boyz in such a list but as they're all in transports the game won't take seven hours.

Rokkits are a simply dreadful way to attack AV14. 5+ to hit and 6+ to glance? I wouldn't pay 5 points for that let alone 10 in boyz mobs or 15 for tankbustas.

Otherwise if you want to tide it up in decent time, play games at 1000 points.

Edit; Also I ran my first ever Green Tide in 3.5 hours with no trouble. Theres no reason a 180 boy list *has* to take that long

If you're planning on putting your boys in trukks, then my only advice is bring A LOT of them. Split up the targets for your opponent. With battlewagons, bring three and stuff 20 boys in each; shootas in one, sluggas in the other two. If you have the points to spare, throw a KFF in one of them as well. I cannot tell you how many times I've saved the wagon and the lives of so many boys inside by rolling a 5+ cover. Boarding planks are awesome, but far from essential. What IS essential, however, is a deff rolla. In one move you can take out a land raider and then shoot the stuffing out of the guys inside (deff rollas hit in the movement phase, so the guys inside disembark before shooting starts). I know this because I've done it. It was AWESEOME! Aside from my biker spam list, I cannot remember the last time I didn't take a couple of wagons. If you're stuck on the rokkits, put them on the wagons. More choppy for the boys that way. As dakkamite said, though, it's widely regarded as silly to take rokkits.

Something I like to practice is the ADL. Put your lootas back there and drop a flak gun for the grots to play with. Blast away with X amount of S7 shots and take pot shots with the SAG. Great anti infantry there.

I imagine it came across as wrong. I understand the rokkits on the boyz are not a solution to firing at AV14. I simply put it on there as a bit of list tailoring to give my boyz the option of standing at range and firing at my corner camping friend. The rokkit launchas did do one unexpected (nice) thing for me though. Turn 1 his drop pod/dreadnaught lands on a side of the board to tie up my cybork boyz and make the Mad Dok go nuts. In the shooting phase my lootas rolled bad only glanced the drop pod, but with my new found rokkit option I simply fired 9 rokkits and secured FB.. Why was it ok to waste D6 inches of movement on three units of boyz? The rest of his army is just cover camping on objectives. So after turn one the Mad Dok is going in the correct direction again, I have first blood, and I don't have to assault the drop pod with boyz to get the Mad Dok back on track (usually exploding the drop pod on them of course). When I go into these battlewagon's though I'm sure I can spend the 150 points elsewhere to do better. Especially considering I ought to be able to get one deff rolla of the three into an AV14 threat.

Thanks for the input.

As soon as I have my wagon's I'm thinking about this for my next game with him;

Mad Dok, in a battlewagon, with 15 Tankbustas (two tankhammers) and 'Eavy Nob with PK.. all of them cyborked. We will get close enough to use the Tankbusta Bombs!

Dis filfy git wantz ta know?

I would switch the stormboyz for more lootas as they seem to be to fast for your army
i would still ditch the rokkits for big shootas as you wont be going after vehicles
if your friend plays alot of landraiders go for BWs as deffrolas are a very good way to fight av14 but that's charging your whole list around and im not gonna be the one to tell you to do that
and lootas are way better for your anti air/transports as it does hurt av13 i would just ignore av14
also jw as to why use maddok? little costly to not abuse his 5+ inv power as you are fearless till 10men left.
ditching dok/stormboyz your getting 401pts back thats alot for more useful units. id spend it all on lootas. in squads of 10
just my advice also try and not talk during ur move phase so it goes faster^.^ friendly or not you normally get 2-3hours at turnis!
