Hey guys long time reader first time poster.
I've only got into warhammer this year and only just started playing, I've had about 3 games with csm and got over them.
So here I am with eldar, I have all the models apart from the banshees and Jain zar and looking for 1800-2000 points.
Is this anything close to a good start? All help appreciated!
Cheers

Honestly, keep it that way. Banshees are one of if not the worst unit in the codex. Jain zar is also pretty bad, but not as bad.

I see your going for mostly footdar, which is certainly doable and you can use all the models you have.
The avatar is going to want some powers, paricularly fast shot. Maybe monster hunter or even disarming strike if your feeling sporty.

Banshees are pretty bad, so drop them for basically anything else. Jain Zar is also a meh hq when you could get a farseer, spirit seer or even a better phoenix lord. Wave serpents are amazing right now, but you probably want TL scatter lasers on top, as well as holo fields and maybe a shuriken cannon on the chin.

Avengers on foot can work, but consider some guardians too for long ranged fire support. Both work well in the fearless bubble of the avatar.

The reapers need an exarch. I like mine with night vision, fast shot, and either an EML or starshot missiles.

The Lance/scatter combo seems nice due to the twin linking, but it is better to take double lances for real AT duty, or dual scatter/scatter starcannon for S6 power dakka. If you take a farseer, you can guide these for TL anyways. Holo fields are a bit overkill, star engines are expensive but since they have battle focus it can be a lot of fun.

WL looks good,

Overall, look into another troop choice, maybe a heavy, a farseer HQ, and bikes.

I agree with a lot of what Dr. Serling said.

Don't get Banshees. Seriously. Get some Warp Spiders and a Farseer (on a jetbike) instead. With Guide and Prescience guaranteed, the Farseer can really add a lot of utility to a footdar army.

I recommend looking up some of Frontline Gaming's battle reports on youtube, their account is called Team0comp. Reece's Eldar army is similar to what you're going for here, with three ten-man Avenger squads as a core.

Awesome ! Thanks for the help guys I'll defs drop the hb for spiders. So the reaper exarch eml is good? I'll defs try it out for sure. I gave the war walkers bl to take out tanks and harder stuff but do you think maybe I should go for more Dakka instead?

The reapers need an exarch for a few reasons. Night vision adds a lot of turn 1 utility to the reapers, as night vision limits their maximum range and gives out cover saves. The EML adds some decent anti horde and pinning and anti tank. The S5 dakka is nice against light armor but the S8 double tap is the moneymaker. Fast shot is also good. I usually just give my exarch starshot missiles and use the S5 Ap3 three times instead of two small blasts. Either or.

Walkers for dakka or lance is really your call. Both are good, just depends on what you want/need. If your list can put out dakka but has trouble with armor try lances, if your list is short on dakka try lasers.
