I have been playing marines for some time, and now trying to learn to either play with eldar or tau if anyone could give me some ideas would be great

well first things first welcome to dakka and welcome to the Xeno's. both armies are good choices as they both just got a new codex. if you love pointy ears go with the eldar. if you love robots go with tau
they can both be competitive as they have fun goodies in both list the eldar have the Awesome wraithknight and the Tau have the awsome riptide. i play against both armies alot and can say that either one you pick is a good choice.

I used to run a large Tau army, and with the new codex they are outstanding! However i must say i'd much rather have played eldar, as to play effectively with Tau, is incredibly boring!

Thanks, I have looked into both armys and I see what you mean for the tau, in where it is just sitting there but I do like the riptide though. Where as the eldar does have some interesting characters and rules as well

I have played neither of those xenos armies, so I'm no help.
