America's Heroes Comics
104 West Rancier
Killeen, TX 76541

The gaming group at this comic store meets every Saturday at 10:00 and usually heads out anywhere from 6-7pm

This store has a great gaming community that has boomed with a lot of the Army units returning from far away. We continuously see anywhere from 4 to 10 40k games each saturday. The back also has Hero-Clix if people are interested in that. WHFB does make an appearance every once in a while, but while any 40k player can just show up and play, its better to come one Saturday and schedule a WHFB match, as they are rarer.

The atmosphere is generally casual. We try to keep it a fun and lively atmosphere that is more concerned with the hobby and story aspects rather than the win at all costs competitiveness that can sometimes be found in the game. Most of the older players have multiple armies, but across the shop the majority of players are Xenos. We have active Tyranid, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Chaos, and tau. One guy refuses to play anything other than orks, and nearly everyone has imperials that come out randomly. We have experienced players and the "leader" is an ex-GW employee who knows the rules in and out for both 40k and WHFB and also gives painting instruction every second saturday to whoever asks.

The shop routinely does events every other month or so, such as narrative based campaigns, map campaigns, even apocalypse battles spread over multiple gaming sessions. In October we are planning on a 20k points each side apoc battle across 4-6 tables with everyone against the massive nids collections 2 of our players have. Even a newer player can throw down 500 points and join in resisting the hive fleet. All are welcome. Come see us if you are in the area.

Also the Store has a card program where you get stars with cash spent in stores you can redeem for discounts later. The owner stocks pretty much any 40k you need and can order everything he DOESN'T have within 3-4 days. Prices are normal, but sales happen occasionally and make for great splurge days (20-30% off really matters when you want that stormraven or baneblade)
