After several years plying wargames with large (28mm) models, I've gotten the desire to try out something on a smaller scale - or larger if you will with regards to the number of miniatures.
Problem is that the only game I really know is Epic Armageddon - and with the line OOP I don't really think that is the way to go. So I was wondering if anyone here could suggest some games and miniatures - in the range of 6 - 15 mm. And please bear in mind that I'm a NOOB, so details is of the utmost necessity.
The games I already know a bit about are Epic Armageddon and Dropzone Commander (but boy is that expensive). Sci-Fi/grimdark/wierdwar are the main area of interest.

Cheers

I'd advocate Epic Armageddon. The rules are free, have great support on the 'net (see the Tactical Command forum), and while GW has stopped their support, there are loads of companies that produce 6mm sci-fi – not to mention the second-hand market.

It's a fantastic game, with great depth. If you're interested in the Warhammer 40,00 background, it's an obvious choice to make; and if you're starting out, then it's relatively well- known and supported in the community.

You might find a few 'Epic veterans' emerging from the woodwork when you play, as it was so popular back in 2nd edition.

Thanks for the suggestion, been scouting the web and it seems that it will be possible to find suitable proxies.
