Hey Dakka!

I have gleaned lots of good advice here but would like some direct comments and concerns with the following list:

Eldar (999/1000pt.)

@HQ [ 1 ]

Farseer (160pt.) Singing spear; Shuriken pistol; Eldar jetbike; Mantle of the Laughing God;

@Troops [ 3 ]

10x - Dire Avengers (155pt.)
> 1x - Dire Avenger Exarch (38pt.); Power weapon and shuriken pistol;
> 9x - Dire Avenger (13pt.); Aspect armour; Avenger shuriken catapult; Plasma grenades;

10x - Guardian Defenders (110pt.)
> Starcannon;
> 10x - Guardian (9pt.); Mesh armour; Plasma grenades; Shuriken catapult;

7x - Rangers (84pt.)
> 7x - Ranger (12pt.); Mesh armour; Ranger long rifle; Shuriken pistol;

@Heavy support [ 3 ]

Fire Prism (140pt.) Prism cannon; Twin-linked shuriken catapults; Holo-fields;

Fire Prism (140pt.) Prism cannon; Twin-linked shuriken catapults; Holo-fields;

3x - War Walker Squadron (210pt.)
> 3x - War Walker (70pt.); Scatter Laser (x2);

Going for (semi) static firebases centered on objectives. Prisms for long range, walkers for mid and guardians for if they get up close.

My friends all play space marines but mainly Dark Angels and Space Wolves. I'm not having a particularly hard time beating either (thanks to the new eldar codex!) but am trying to employ new mantleseer on a bike (Jain Zar conversion).

How does this list seem to the Veteran players out there?

Thanks ahead of time Dakka!

If they start deep strike you're in trouble.
Right now I only see that if you keep your troops together they will be able to handle 2+ deep striking units. Otherwise you'll probably be ran over. Some counter chargers would be nice.
But if they footslogg or go by mech you should be fine.

I don't really see how you would take objectives with this list. I would change the rangers for a 3 squad of jetbikes for some objective rushing.

good advice. more speed and a bit of melee to round it out. the rangers were just to fill up the last few points. I don't have any jetbikes (sadly) but maybe I can drop a fire prism and the rangers to free up some points. I could then spend it on a wave serpent to mobilize a troop choice or a hard hitting assult squad like some harlequins or scorpions

Does anyone have trouble facing deepstrikers? It's generally avoided by most around here. After rolling for scatter and blasting for one round those terminators or landspeeders are wiped off the board by the following turn of shooting...

I think your list should be fine against MEQ. Eldar are really good against marines due to our mass rending with shuriken weapons. As far as counter assault, any marine unit will have to wade through an overwatch of bladestorm, then you strike first. Rangers and guardians will probably get rolled, but avengers have counter attack as well as an exarch, to hit back.

Prisms are also great against marines, and anything that deep strikes in a nice little blob is asking for a blast template.

Using your laughing seer, you can guide/prescience a key unit and dakka them off the board.

If your worried about getting objectives on the other side of the board, remember rangers can outflank and move through cover. They also have pistols and battle focus, making them fairly quick and the pistol has the same odds as their long rifle to kill a marine....

The only thing I would change is get your avenger exarch a better weapon. Spring for a diresword if you want that route, or a shimmershield. Alternatively, drop to a TL catapult or drop the ex altogether.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
