Hi All! I am new to the forum (posting anyway!)

I would like to get peoples opinions on whether it is worth entering WHFB armies into Armies on Parade. The reason I ask is that I will be submitting a WHFB AOP board to my local GW this year. As with most places these days the majority of customers there are WH40K gamers. It is highly unlikely that I will progress from the store to GamesDay as it is usually a 40K board that the majority vote on. The problem I have is that people tend to vote on the board they 'like' (i.e. the one that contains the models they like) rather than the board that is painted to the highest quality and is original etc.

So what I am trying to say is you can put a lot of effort into an armies on parade board and lose to a board of much lower quality due to it being a more 'popular' i.e. 40K.

It would be good to get your thoughts and opinions on this!

On the assumption that you're going to be spending hours and hours doing this, do something you enjoy. If you live your life worrying what other people think, you'll end up disappointed. You already seem to have written off your chances of being selected, but surely that's secondary to the enjoyment you derive from producing your entry?

Originality, detail and an overall theme will trump favouritism for me.
If you produce a really excellent WHFB board, there is little reason for people not to vote for it just because they prefer the aesthetic of say power armor.
A lot of the WHFB armies are as, if not more evocative, than 40k imho.
