I'm trying to find companies that make hollow bases to do some cracked ice bases for a future project. I've found Secret Weapon Miniatures carries some as does Back 2 Basic-IX. I'm just shying away at the price tag of ~$.65-.75 a base when for the same price I could get the scenic bases they have with detail in it. I searched the forum but didn't see any hits, and I checked out a couple of older posts that aggregated companies that made bases, which is how I found Back 2 Base-Ix.

Cheapest option is to turn a normal base (not a slota obviously) upside down.

After quickly grabbing a base and turning it upside down it looks...odd. I don't mind paying extra for hollow bases, just trying to get an idea if there is anyone else to look at since I won't be picking any up till the end of the month. Also slight annoyance at the fact that the vendors I know of charge the same price for stuff that doesn't have all the nice detail filler.

I've made em by hand using a dremel and plasticard for beveled bases, and foamboard for found lip bases, and even paying something like $2 a base, to me, would be a savings compared to that pain in the ass.

Make one and cast it yourself?

Actually those end up being more expensive since they are GBP . It looks like I will end up going with the Secret Weapon miniatures ones, I've seen a UK/Aus companies that sell what I am after but usually just match the price of the SW ones, and then shipping shoots it up even higher. Thanks for passing that on to me though!
