Hi guys..this is my usual 1750 nid list:

1 swarmlod with 1 tyrant guard

1 flying hive tyrant with 2 x twin linked M devourers

4 x warriors 1 barbed strangeler 3 x rending claws (all Stalons) 130 pts

4 x warriors 1 barbed strangles 3 x devourers (all Stalons) 130pts

3 x raveners devourers and 2 sets of Stalons

1 carnifex 2 x twinlinked Mdevourers

3 x hive guards

8 ymgarl genestealers

8 ymgarl genestealers

1 biovore!!

sometimes i replace the swarmlord with hive tyrand with 2 x twinlinked Mdevourers and add about 22 termagants)

and some times i add a venomthrope..


what are your suggestions?? were does that list lack? what shall i change? what shall i add?

The biggest and most obvious flaw is the fact you have only two units of troops. In a game that has 5/6 missions based on objectives, some missions having up to 6 objectives you need more troops on the board. Warriors are very easy to kill. A few S8 weapons and the warriors are toast.

Safe to say every nid list should have/needs a Tervigon. Spawning free troops and unlocking a troop choice with 6 wounds and T6 with the ability to roll up to 3 biomancy powers really helps you survive games.

I would get a tervigon and 30 termagants to start off your troop section. Espeically walking the swarmlord up you need to offer more targets to the enemy.

It takes 3 turns for swarmy to get into place. I can safely ignore himand focus everything I have in downing your tyrant. Once your tyrant is down I can focus on your Swarm. Raveners aren't effective with only 3 models I find. Your carnifex needs a pod to get him where you want him.
I like hive guard and yrmgarls so enjoy them.

There is a new codex rumored to being released soon so a lot may change.

Most of his^^^ suggestions have weight, but if the list works for you play it! I agree that Warriors will struggle against S8, but if you provide your opponent with enough other targets the Warriors will go relatively unnoticed.

The largest issue that I have with your list is the Swarmlord. Even though I have had a new-found attraction towards him, he doesn't add much synergy to your list. You don't have any dedicated reserves, so the +1 reserves goes unused (including the alien cunning special rule), adding preferred enemy to any of your list doesn't help much, nor does Furious charge. Those buffs typically benefit large units of Gargoyles or gants more than small units.

I'd either add more units that can take advantage of Swarmlords buffs or remove him entirely. You can always add an additional Flyrant or almost 2 Tervigons (if you trim points elsewhere).

well usually my warriors are the only 2 units left alive at the end of any game...cause usually nobody bothers with them when they see a swarmlord advancing a flyrand whiping out their troops and 2 squads of ymgarls apearing inside their army!!

i have thought about the tervigon...but it will draw fire (while warriors sit in an are terain guarding an obdjective with their 12 wounds per squad...the enemy usually wont spend str 8 shots on them...but will prefer the monstrus creatures..

i just played vs a necron army (1 monolith 10 warriors 10 warriors 20 warriors 8 imortals 1 overlord with EVERYthing another one overlord with everything (2+ save 3+ invou mindsackle /tesseract vault/tachion arrow) 5 lychguards with shields 3 wraiths 2 tomb spyders and 1 swarm squad)

and...i won...we had 6 objectives i held 2 he held 1...i also got first blood...we both got slay the overlord..

i had all my warriors alive by the end...1 hive guard 1 biovore and 2 raveners...while he had his imortals 15 warriors 3 lichguards and 1 overlod left

the highlights were..my swarmlod killing his wraiths and then geting charged by the lichguard and overlord only to get trapped inside the tesseract vault(again)

my canifex killing a tomb spider in CC my flyrant charging the monolith and obliterating it(and then getting shot to pieces by 20 rapid fire warriors)..and the imgarls killing tons of warriors before they get overwelmed from more tons of warriors

also my last hive guard killed 1 of his overlords by the and of the game

the game lasted 5 turns only and by the 3rd turn ALL the necron army was in CC and that helped me alot..kept him from reaching my warriors
