So, I am an old 5th Ed player who didn't want to jump right into 6th. I used to do the competitive thing, but now really just want a bit more of a fluffy TAC list that can win, without being sacrificing the cool stuff. That being said, I am going to be making Carcharodons (yea, I put them on the shelf and now want to come back to them). This seems much more fluffy to them than the new SM Codex, since there is actual CC potential in this list.

So, each Terminator pairs off with its constituent squad (matching Combi to Special). The Rune Priests pair off wherever, while the Wolf Priest leads up the Outflanking squad. This gives me a 2+/5+ save up front in each squad, along with loads of special weapons and stuff to make sure I can handle multiple types of threats. Three of the Pods deploy empty, though the Wolf Guard can deploy as a squad if needed in theirs, it is usually empty along with the Long Fangs.

The biggest glaring issue I see is the lack of anti-flyer weapons. Shy of Helios launchers, I don't have an answer that I can think of. Any ideas on this? Should I just cave and grab the Helios launchers anyhow?

Thoughts overall on the list?

I am going to assume that the Div RP is manning the quad gun, if so you can save yourself 20pts but leaving him in PA. and you're gonna want to add chooser to him (extra insurance for the twin-linked quad gun)

I personally don't take chooser on a RP I have going out into the fray because once he gets close enough he is only using JotWW and that (to my knowledge) doesn't require a to hit roll to go off... but LL does so that your choice

GH squads should almost always be 10 models to gain the FREE 2nd special weapon. But since you're adding pack leaders and have a drop pod you're sacrificing that. Something i have been wanting to play around with them is also adding MotW instead of a power weapon, which in theory will net you more attacks with the added bonus of rending on 6s

other than that like this list, if you're up against fliers it is gonna take some hard hits, the quadgun can help that but its likely the first target of the incoming flyer... I solve my issue by allying IG for Vendetta (which also netted me Primaris Psyker with Psychic Shriek and 4 more plasma shots in a Chimera)

The RP can go where they are needed most - usually would be dropping them in.

Also, the GH have MotW. Would love 10-man squads, but yea, the Termies give them some heft and a nice 2+ up front as well as a Combi to help balance out that lack of 2nd special.

From what I hear, my local metagame isn't too heavy on flyers, so there is a chance this could work. What concerns me now is Interceptor Tau stuff, which seems to rough up Pod armies pretty bad.

RP go where they can go but if you're making one divination its best served (IMO) behind ADL with your LF units which makes great use of Prescience
