I started 40k ages ago but only just picked it back up (never had a proper army before as I was like 14)
I'm doing Necrons because I seem to have quite a few of those painted up already, I have an idea for a small starter group (also thinking of doing Marines or Eldar at some point too)
I have some idea for a small 500pts starter force (which I already have most of from old models) so was wondering what you guys think

Overlord (165)
-Warscythe
-Phylactery
-Mindshackle Scarabs
-Sempiternal Weave
-Tesseract Labyrinth

7 Necron Warriors (91)
7 Necron Warriors (91)
Triarch Stalker (150)

Totals at 497pts, would you guys say this is a good army for a starter? If not, any suggestions?

In the Trenchs

the lord costs to much IMO but thats cause i like to run cheapo leaders and more troops, but it all depends on the tactics your gonna do

Praise be to Dark Sphere savior of cheapskates!

Wow, no, OP, this will not do well at all.
The thing to understand about playing Necrons is that just randomly throwing things together will not work as well as planning on what will work well with what and building your list around it.
The Necron codex is incredibly synergistic, and right now your list doesn't have any synergy to it.
