Heya,
ever since thumbing through the latest white dwarf ive fallen in love with the sternguard models and want to build a list to use them to maximum effect but also keeping the list a little fluffy. Now I am not sure exactly how the rules work about pedro kantor making sternguard scoring. I assume he makes all of the sternguard in his own detachment scoring, but how about a second detachment which is led by lysander? anyway. this is the list I came up with so far.
Main detachment:
HQ: Pedro Kantor - 185
joins a squad of sternguard
HQ: Lysander - 230
joins sternguard in drop pod
TROOP:Tactical squad, Flamer, Razorback, Twin-linked Lascannon - 150 (x2)
TROOP: Tactical squad, Lascannon, Razorback, Twin-linked Lascannon - 165 (x2)
stays back with devastators outside of transport for extra dakka
ELITE: Sternguard squad, Heavy Flamer, Razorback, Twin-linked Lascannon - 205 (x2)
ELITE: Sternguard squad, Heavy Flamer, Drop pod - 165
HEAVY SUPPORT: Devastators, 4x Heavy bolter - 110
HEAVY SUPPORT: Devastators, 4x Missile Launcher, 4x Flakk Missiles - 170
FORTIFICATION: Aegis defence line, quad gun - 100

You can't ally crimson fists with imperial fists since they both have the same chapter tactics (same reason you can't ally sallys with a successor chapter to sallys)
If you make pedro your warlord you get his SG scoring rule so I would reccomend that although you will be losing out on lysanders armywide buff since he isn't your warlord (might be wrong on this don't have my dex on hand)

lysander's army wide buff of bolter drill is the same chapter trait as crimson fists since CF's are a successor chapter of IF. Further, since they are of the same originating chapter, both characters may be in the same detachment.
Had they been different chapters for gaming purposes, Pedro would NOT make allied sternguard scoring.

So I could merge these two lists no problem and remove the spare sternguard squad replacing them for say aother tac squad?

Ok I am pretty sure you got that Crimson Fist and Imperial Fist use same chapter tactics. Pedro only needs to be in your army to give you scoring sternguard units, he does not have to be your warlord, and his special rule is "Friendly units of Crimson Fist Sternguard Veterans are scoring units"
Also Lysander and models in terminator armor cannot be embarked in drop pods, it is only "Ten models, one Dreadnaught or one Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner."
The big choice between Lysander and Pedro Kantor is choosing which Warlord trait you want as well as which 12" rule you want for your units; this matters because you need to take into account where you will be deploying him and who will you be deploying him with. Also I would probably try adding a little more support in the back even though you all ready have 1 Dev squad (even though its 4 HB) and a few TW-Las on your rhinos.

Doesn't a model in terminator armor simply count as having a transport capacity of 2? I thought the only transports they couldn't use were rhino's and razorbacks as these specificly state that they cannot be used by models which have the bulky, very bulky or extremely bulky special rules. The Drop pod does not have this limitation?
Ive Added a squad of devastators with missile launchers with flak missiles. Ill probably have the sargeant manning the quad gun meaning the squad should be able to deal with any flyers i run into. Ive also equiped all the sternguard squads with a heavy flamer which should help with objective clearing. all this comes exactly to 2000 pts.
