came in looking for an eldar army and I find wood elves, you are not selling eldar you are selling wood elves with a few eldar models mixed in, they are not dire avengers they are wood elves.. If I wanted to use wood elves as eldar I would be searching for wood elves not eldar.

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I understand your point of view and I can see how you might feel frustrated.

I didn't feel it would be productive or fair to sell off the Eldar models that I had on their own as they would not be a proper army. This army required troop choices to be viable in standard games of Warhammer 40K.

Buying additional Eldar models just to sell them off had no appeal to me. However I had plenty of Wood Elf models left over after completing my first Wood Elf army (also currently for sale). The result is a very unique Eldar army just as advertised. It's a great core for players to build around and it's a far cheaper way to get a large amount of HQ and Troop units compared to buying them from GW. Also, each unit in this army is painted to a tabletop quality resulting in an army that is ready to play with upon delivery. Finally these models are all standard Games Workshop models meaning that they can be used without modification in any 40K event.

The end result is a relatively cheap, beautifully painted, and unique Eldar army, just as advertised in the subject header. Plus, as you mentioned, if you want to expand the core troops in the army, you only need to track down Wood Elf models instead of Eldar models. I've had recommendations that Treemen would make great Wraithlords and Dryads would be great Wraithguard, for example. Of course, standard Eldar models would work just as well, given that they also have a fine representation in this army as well.

I think Aladeen's true point is that the army is not a Unique take on Eldar, but an Eldar army with Fantasy Minis painted to match the army and use as Proxies. It would be one thing if more conversions were done to make a uniform idea to convey what your describing as a Unique army. I guess this is where the difference is.

While I appreciate your repetition of a point which is not your own, I can't help but note that when you did so you ignored all of the points which I made in response.

In regards to your focus on the 'unique' nature of this Eldar army. There is an established precedent for primitive or regressed Eldar within the WH40K canon, namely the Exodite Eldar. Exodites have been used for inspiration for several armies which can be found online. I have seen many fine Exodite armies which use both 40K and Fantasy miniatures together to create a unique look. If I had appropriate Eldar bitz, I would have attempted to kitbash similar conversions to those armies. Unfortunately I didn't have those bitz, so I did the best I could with what I had on hand.

Does this mean that this army is less 'unique' than another Eldar Exodite army? I don't think it does. Could I have tried advertising this as an “Eldar Exodite Army” only to have people point out that those Exodites are in fact Wood Elves? Certainly I could have, but I felt that would have been dishonest. Instead I used a tantalizing word to make viewers wonder what was 'unique' about this army. I presented exactly what it was that was unique about this army as soon as someone looked in my post.

I can only apologize if someone ended up feeling that my practical solutions, unifying paint scheme, and proxied figures don't meet someone's exacting standards of something 'unique'. Nonetheless, I still feel that all of my original points regarding this army are valid, and I feel that my title best describes the army I'm offering.
