Hi I have the opportunity to purchase a FW model as a centre piece for my new iron hands force, the units I am considering are the contemptor dreadnought or an achillies land raider.
I like both models and can see how both would be useful but wanted some other opinions before I order.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

The contemptor can always be played as a regular dread, and you may not always be able to use the Achilles. Plus if you get some magnets you can get a versatile unit with different weapon options.
