I am slowly building an Orc force and I want it to be a very competitive list so I need your help on adding to it. What should be my next purchase?

Orc list contains as follows

HQ
Mek kkf
Warboss combi shoota attack squig

Elites
4lootas with Mek
16 nobs pk big choopa mix
Pain boy

Troops
40 boys( I know I need more of boys)
Custom truck

Fast attack
13 storm boys with nob pk
Burns bomber

What can y'all suggest?

Theres heaps thats 'wrong' here and heaps that can be done better.

~Kombi Shoota is a waste of points on the Warboss. He should never shoot anything more than one Slugga or one Kombi Skorcha shot per game, immediately before his charge.

~Nobs cannot be taken in units of more than ten.

~Nobs are very gear orientated. We need to know exactly what gear they've got or we can't help you

~Need to know what type of boys, how many squads of how many, are they lead by Nobs etc

~We need to know details on the trukk

~Stormboys are not a very powerful choice. Would recommend you count the Nob as Zagstrukk if your going to use them

~Burna Bomma is rubbish, should be a dakkajet

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you've got the opposite of a competitive list here mate

Right then. This was just telling you all what I own so far I know the ork nobs can't be in a unit of 16 so I would run 10 in troop slot with a doc. They all would have big choppas and shootas. I will or would like a large amount of storm boys so they would be affective I think any way. But my boys would be split as of right now half shoota and the other half cc.
What would be best for the war boss?
Why is the Burna bomber no good?

There are three basic Competitive Builds for Orks..
Speed Freaks-Trukkers and Bikers
Wagon Rush-Wagonsw/Deffrollas, Carrying Nobz , Meganobz and Boyz..
Green Tide-Foot List Lots and lots of boyz on foot with support
For all lists
Need More Boyz ...
Need More Lootas..
Need Big Gunz..(Convert These..Far Cheaper and nicer than the "Official Model's")
Need Another DakkaJet...
For Wagon Rush
Need Wagons
For Speed Freaks
More Trukks
Need Either
Nob Bikers and a Boss Biker
or MegaNobz and a MegaBoss..

Ok great intel but I want a green tide list. So from what I own right now I have slot of work ahead of me

Start small. I fielded 180 models in one of my first few games with my friend and green tide works but the fun sorta gets sapped out of the game somewhere inbetween the time it takes to move them, the ache you'll get in your back, the logistics of getting to a flgs, and the impatience you'll have with assembling/painting them. You will probably also getting nominated tfg if you put 150 boyz on the table.

Also, don't play with friends who have gianormous ruins and excessive hills it complicates game speed with green tide a lot.

Units with scout and outflanking can be sweet because most opponent will want to sit at the very back of the board against green tide.

Get to 60 boyz and start playing a couple small games with 2 blocks of boyz and the Big Mek Kff to get a feel of what your games will be like.

That's a good point. I couldn't imagine what the board would look like with 150 boys running up a table lol. I'm 20 boys away from gettin two squads of 30.

I figure if your going to play orks green tide is the only way to go, they are like nids In the sense of overwhelming amount of troops.
I did get overwhelmed with the painting and assembling of what I have. I still have some to finish painting but out of my 4 armies the orks are coming out the best I think.

If I run 60 orks would you suggest storm boys, nobs in a truck?

Obviously I would have a nob in with each squad of boys with a pk bp tls, right?

I think a good start is 60 but instead of running 2, 30 man id run 3, 20 man all shootas but you could make one cc if you so desire. With Foot slogging orks i really like taking kans even though the wall kinda lacks now because of focus fire its still fun to run 6 kans and 60+ boys while being covered by lootas. But really the best to start before purchasing units or building units you own is play testing them. if you have a friend you play with im sure he'll let you proxy w.e and just test it out too see how the rules work with your mindset and playset. The great thing with orks is that there is so many good options and their suppppper cheap on points its always a laugh showing my opponent what im taking in 500 -1500 points.

It does work, The problem with this and most people have is since you only have one transport it will msot likely get popped first turn, but because i have the battleforce and only have 1 trukk i do run nobs in a trukk just a side distraction to my horde of boys.
Also Killa kans have av11 front i believe codex isnt on hand but yea they are pretty squishy but grotzookas love squishy eldar and tau.

I have yet to play test my orks so I will go by what you say. I've mainly been playing tau and plain to try new eldar this weekend. My BA are no good since 6th ed

U dont seem to have quite enough to be playing larger games so i cant help much with a list as im no good at doing lower pt lists cus orks need to abuse n spam everything we got!
As for things to buy
Lootas 20-30
Boyz 80-120min 180max or more for maxed out 2k greentide xP
And from there it depends on what you like or how you like to play!
Speed freaks 6trucks with meks with kffs filled to da brim with boyz!
Battlewagons 5-8 filled with boyz or nobz with flamers!
Greentide nothing but maxed out boyz with some good firepower!
Ork da bikers!! Warbikers n bob bikers with painboyz warbosses on bikes!
Those are the most 'popular" styles people use these days.
Other good things to buy for ur lists 1-3dakkajets the rules are in a white dwarf or online.
Usually always dakkajets rather than the others or you can convert it so it can be all 3.
Big meks are always good for transport heavy lists for the 5+ cover save all around.
Weirdboyz are good in greentide n 3 dakkajet lists for extra waaaghs! Although dakkamite and the rest of dakka will aruge that idea into the grave

Yea I know I am very low on models for what I want to run which is a green tide. It's in the works so I need to buy more boys but I would like to know if storm boys are a good addition to said list. I love storm boys I don't know why!
I don't like bikes. But I do want to get two battle wagons and a leman Russ for a looted wagon.
Lootas are cool but you need a lot and the damn box only comes with 4 the 5th is a Mek what the hell.

Stormboyz are good in speed freak armies cus they are so fast and can assult t2-3ish but they cost alittle tl much as they only have sluggas n in this shooty ed shooty is best!
I also dont like bikers but some people do i was just givin examples.
25$ for 5lootas is meeeehhh. But 100$ for 20 makes the deal sound alitte better. U can convert the meks to lootas!
And burna bombs are just to un trusted as they wont get to abuse there full potential cus they are av10 and will have to snapshot if you jinx and you cant drop ur blasts.
Dakkajets on a waaggh do 18 str6 twinlinked shots witch is just broken for melting av10-11 vehicles and men out in the open

Okay then Cheapest source of NEW Boyz..Battleforce..Old or NEW-(08)..then boxes of boyz ..(Having some of the toyz from a Battle Box is just nice especially the older (199X Box)..oh yea dont forget to grab a couple boxes of gretchin to man the Kannon's your going to scratch build)
I suggest one box of Catachan Heavy Weapons Squad -For Conversion purposes everything gets used from the catachan box even the catachan themslves convert to grotz manning gunz easy enough (head and arm swap and voila grot manning Kannon instead of building it as a missle emplacement)
Lootas ..can be bought ..or easily converted from AOBR Boyz..
