So... first and foremost.. I'm a longtime Spacewolf player since 2nd edition and got into Imperial Fists about 10 years back since they're dead hard, from Earth, have a bad ass "Stone Man" Primarch, sport bright yellow armour {that's both a pain in the ass and rewarding to paint} and build fortifications every night around their sleeping cells after enduring the pain glove all day and having hobbies like excising their taste buds....
My significant other plays Tyranids so I wanted to inject some friendly rivalry between our forces. I went with Sycthes of Emperor since they HATE nids, are also black and yellow, and the defence of the Miral System by Lysander and the Fists from Hive Fleet Leviethan led me to coming up with some ideas and narrative for their Alliance.
The Fists, wanting to better know their new enemy, ask the Scythes to share in their knowledge. In exchange, knowing that the Scythes are but 200 marines in total and in an extensive rebuilding phase, offer to help train and re-equip the ailing chapter. Having access to numerous forgeworlds and the might of the Phalanx Deathstar itself, it is agreed that small detachments of both grizzled warriors and new recruits of the Emperors Scythes will accompany Imperial Fist strike forces on campaign...
Their vets are offered the latest forgings of infantry heavy armour and recon equipment and weapons for their scouts. Green scouts earn valuable experience while veterans stride into battle to seek retribution for their losses and protection of their geneseed in Centurion Warsuits and/ or more traditional Tactical Dreadnought Armour.
This particular detachment is led by a grizzled old Scythes Librarian whose own battles with the Tyranid menace have lead to an awakening of many powers of Prescience. He uses these powers to protect the few remaining Scythes as they struggle back from the brink of annihilation aided by their VII Legion Brethren.
So a few things about the idea of this army before I get into specifics.
I wanted a very SYNERGISTIC army that worked as well as it could together. I wanted a dead hard army that exemplified siege warfare. Rock solid units that could get up in the face of the enemy or wither them with firepower.
My army is based on a solid block of tactical marines, using rhinos as mechanized transport and MOBILE bunkers/ shields as they either advance upon the enemy or defend. The Centurions models have been slowing growing on me... I saw them in person and decided they were the perfect unit to show the adaptation to seige warfare. I wanted to project an intimidating heavy armour look to my force. With that, I am including two detahments of Centurions. One is an Imperial Fist
Dev version that is purely fire support anti armour, the other an advancing wall of Grav Cannon to shred both troops and fortifications.... linebrekers and breachers that make openings for surging Tacticals to pour into.....
I have also included an Aegis Defence Line since it is a great example of something the Imperial Fists would do; even in attack, I see them hastily constructing earthworks to shelter their big guns as they provide support for the assault.
So the idea is a firepower heavy force with a solid block of mechanized marines, firebase castles in the Aegis, Scouts man the
AA Quadgun and hold back objectives /base, Librarian provides Prescient powers to protect and enhance key units (counts as Tigurius, Sycthes are Ultramarine successors)
Here's my first stab... I had originally included a Landraider but all it had inside was Tiggy, protected and bolstering his powers reach ( using vehicle hull) I also wanted to use the Landraider as a mobile
LOS blocking terrain / bunker so that my Centurions can be shielded from the majority of fire and be a fire magnet itself.
However I ran out of points and felt I needed a hard countercharge unit instead... so the rhinos will have to do for now...
Heres my core force, I hope you can add some meta game thoughts on how you would TWEAK this list. Remember its about firepower heavy with counter charge, with some deepstrike/ bike mobility.
Scythes of the Emperor Detachment [ Ultramarine Chapter Tactics)
HQ: 165
Varro Tigurius (Brother- Librarian Wiz Khalifa)
willl roll for Divination Powers to shield Centurions/Scouts in better cover saves, invulnerable saves reroll to hit ect
can use UM Chapter Tactics to reroll to hit, reroll snap fire, and reroll charge once per battle as necessary... these will be primarily used for the Grav Gun Centurions and Assault Terminators)
WARLORD TRAIT allows one unit to reroll to hit in one shooting phase
Enhances the entire army in subtle but powerful ways.

The
Tac Squads are no frills besides being FISTY... Tiggy does alot for this army.... Rerolls Reserves for the Gunship, Storm of Fire Warloard Trait allows a single friendly Space Marine unit to reroll failed to hit rolls for a full turn ( shooting and assault)
Rolling for 3 Divination power allows me a very good shot at the powers I want, mainly shooting at full
BS on overwatch and having Counterattack (anti assault), giving a unit shooting Ignore Cover shots ( no need for flamers), and giving a unit 4+ Invulnerable saves against heavy weapons fire)
Teleport Homers on turbo boosting bikes and onboard the rhino wall for best flexibility of my countercharge/ or gunline assult deepstrike of Terminators.
EDIT: realized I completely forgot to include the Aegis Defence Line... do you feel it would be better to ditch the Stormtalon for the Aegis as well as a few pieces of bling for the bikers/ tacticals?
I'm also thinking of bringing down the reduced squad to 8 marines to allow for a special weapon or two.
[I think the Stormtalon will look great once I cut all the crap off of it and attach better scaled weapons on it]
