Hello every one,

I played my second game this weekend against some one i ment on dakka, really cool guy. We played at 25 points my Cygnar vs his Khado, this was my first time playing on my own with no one to help out. I had a tuff time trying to place and use Estryker i wasnt sure who to have as a body gaurd for him. I really wanted to get a feel for the Stormblades and how they worked, I failed at this pretty bad until another warmachin player came over watched and helped me out. My question is how do most people use Estryker i had him sitting and baby stepping his was across the board to only get killed by Sasha. I was going to use the Stormblades as a shield for Stryker so i can make my way to the enemys caster and go for the kill. And advice would be great. Id also like to take the charger and lancer out as they did nothing the whole game. I held alot back that game and really focused on the Stormblades as i wante to learn how they worked.

I don't know much about eStryker. But I have heard that Rowdy works well with him. Stormclads are nice and work well with the stormblades. Maybe drop the charger and a couple stormgunners to upgrade the ironclad and then buy a unit like B-13. Or wait till you move up to 35 points and do it at that time.

But I'd check out Battlecollege. It can give you some basics. Also check out the privateer forums. The cygnar forums in particular have a lot of tactical guides. The PP forums also have a list discussion area where you can see some typical eStryker lists. He is considered an excellent tourney caster so I am sure you can find some tourney quality lists to look over.

Thanks Mordekiem, Dakka is the only fourm i can use while at work lol. I want to keep the iron clad because i only pay one point for him right now using strykers wj points. I like the storm gunners abilities, if i hit anything one with one every one else auto hits, plus they are range 12. Im going to try and head over to there to get a look at some lists.

Stormblades aren't a front line unit since their stats doesn't allow them to survive for very long when facing any type of ranged threat and their threat range means that usually they won't be able to get the alpha.

Now, eStryker can mitigate the first part to some extent with Deflection, but you'll wan't Junior in there to really push their ARM to decent levels versus Ranged and Magic.

In the same vein, eStryker's Feat and Rebuke will allow your Stormblades to get the alpha strike in against other infantry units.

If I was you, I would take out the Charger, change the Ironclad for wither Ol'Rowdy or a Stormclad and use any leftover points to change the Stormblade Captain for Junior. The Lancer is invaluable to allow you to cast Rebuke so you should keep it.

eStryker should spend the first few turns in the back, just supporting its army and bidding its time until an opportunity presents itself for you to use his 17"+ threat range to assassinate the opposing caster!

That is what smart phones are for.

The nice thing about upgrading the Ironclad to Rowdy is he only costs two more points and you get quite a bit of upgrades for those two measly points. The extra ARM and MAT are pretty good just by themselves. But wait there's more! You get aggressive, countercharge, an imprint, an affinity and you can bond him to stryker for even more rowdy goodness!

If you are good at converting you can probably convert the Ironclad to be Rowdy. Alternatively, they are very similar so while learning you can probably use the ironclad as a stand in for rowdy as long as you check with your opponent first.

And as mentioned things like the Jr. Warcaster, squire and even Rhupert (though Runewood may be even better) are all things that can help you.

Stormblades are more of a damage-dealing unit, rather then a damage-absorbing unit.

The Journeyman Warcaster is a good add, he can shield the stormblades and he can run the Charger if you really want to keep it. It's also one of those Units You Should Own, and will probably be finding a place in your Cygnar lists for some time.

You also said you "held back", and I'm not sure what you mean by that, but eStryker and his Storm Brigade are more of an aggressive list. It sounds like you played a little too defensively, instead of using Advance Deployment, Rebuke, and the Feat to get your Stormblades up in your opponent's face.

Oh, and all the wonderful things said above about Rowdy are completely true. Rowdy also solves your problem of who to protect Stryker as they get bonuses while in B2B.

I need Rowdys cards and stats i was going to proxy him. Im pretty good at converting and will give it a shot. Im still trying to learn how they work what messed me up was assualt orders. Wasnt sure how it worked, i really need the Cygnar book ive been avoiding picking it up.

Both the Cygnar book and the smartphone app will have Rowdy's stat card.

It's funny, I know they both sort of feel like optional expenses, but it's kind of useful to have actual stats in front of you while making purchasing decisions.

Ive been grabbing the book off the shelf and looking at stuff before i buy them. Now the Cygnar book is gone i have nothing to reference lol.

There are no restrictions on epic models anymore, or any model for that matter that has been officially released.

You could run a Colossal and an Epic Warcaster at 15 points if you wanted to and had the WJ points to squeeze it in.
