Hi All,

I am posting a rough army list to get your opinion on whether what I built for my IG army will suffice for victory. For the record I have never played against Necrons and once against Dark Angels. I will also be taking a single Shadowsword tank for fun. My partner will be playing Salamanders most likely. I expect bikes and termies for the Dark Angels and at least a Monolith for the Nerons.

So here is my List, 1500 pts for me. Mixture of IG codex and Imperial Armor Second Edition rules.

HQ - Company Command Tank: Vanquisher cannon, Beast hunter shells, multimeltas, lascannon
- Use the beast hunter shells for instant death rule and blast plate.
- Use vanquisher cannon shells for vehicles.
- Can you freely swap between different shell types depending on target or am i stuck with just beast hunter shells?

Elites - Psyker Battle Squad: 9 men + overseer, IG codex psyker abilities, mounted in chimera
- To be used as a mobile pieplate against Infantry. will be "hidden" behind wall of tanks

Troop #1 - Siege Tank Squadron: Executioner variant, lascannon, multimeltas
- to be used against MEQ/TEQ units.
- using multi-meltas for TEQ/bikes/vehicles
Troop #2 - Siege Tank Squadron: Executioner variant, lascannon, multimeltas
- to be used against MEQ/TEQ units.
- using multi-meltas for TEQ/bikes/vehicles
Troop #3 - Platoon Command Squad: flamer
- used for infantry orders
- used as filler
Troop #4 - Infantry Squad #1: Sniper rifle, autocannon
- used for holding some objectives, meat shield
- using sniper rifle mainly for pinning
- used as filler
Troop #5 - Infantry Squad #2: Sniper rifle, autocannon
- used for holding some objectives, meat shield
- using sniper rifle mainly for pinning
- used as filler

Super Heavy - Shadowsword Tank: Volcano Cannon, 2 lascannons, 3 twin-link heavy bolters.
- used because it looks fun
- only upgrades to tank is the 3rd twin-link heavy bolter

So the intent is to provide a wall of AV14 with good firepower against infantry and excellent firepower against vehicles. Goal is to provide support to Salamanders squads. Salamanders may well take a techmarine or master of forge to help repair any vehicles. No idea yet as to what missions will be rolled.

Thannks for the feedback in advance!
