A little something I ginned up and wondered if this could be a new meta "thing". Could be readily adaptable to 1850.

TOTAL POINTS:1996

The thought is to fortify terrain pieces so that you get some 2+ save scouts, 3+ save on firewarriors and broadsides. You then have Tigerius get you some wicked Divination powers (re-rolls, misfortune, 4++ save, ignore cover) and hand them out like king sized snickers bar on All Hallow's Eve. The techmarine on bike rolls with his biker buddies to hunt heavy metal or be a distraction unit (that can still be punishing). Your kroot outflank to grab objectives. It's pretty obvious what the other heavy hitters do.

This gives you the potency of a farseer (and then some), better durability for a large portion of your army, still buffs like a buff commander, and gives your broadsides ATSKNF. Last but not least, if the points s can be tweaked, you can give your skyrays 2+ cover if you hide them behind fortified ruins (disruption pods work like holo fields, I think? Just recently bought the Tau and Eldar books)

What's the general thoughts? Gross, but Taudar or Tau^2 gross?

Shine on, Kaldor Dayglow!
