Plummeting Black Templar Thunderhawk Pilot

Greetings Dakka!
I've been using a new Corsair army that I put together to great effect. Ive played about 10 games with it now, and I've tabled every opponent i've played. This includes armies with 3 riptides and a Wraithknight, to Grey knight armies littered with Dakka Dreads. I think at 1500 this list is about as good as it's going to get. It's balanced, fast and deadly. At 1500 points, I don't see lists with 3 Helldrakes or 6+ wave serpents cropping up (which are the 2 main builds which i think are capeable of wrecking me. Here is the 1500 list:
Dark Eldar(Primary Detachment)
----------------------------------
HQ
-----------
Baron Sathonyx
Troops
---------------
Kabalite Warriors
5x Kabalite Warrior
5x Splinter Rifle
Venom
Flickerfield, Nightshield, Splinter Cannon

Shining Spears
6x Shining Spear
Exarch
Star Lance
You would probably agree that the scariest things this list will face are Hell Turkeys and Wave Serpents. Not really scared of Riptides or wraithknights - i've got the weapons to hurt them. If possible, I would like to keep the Jetbike/Venom theme going. So what are your suggestions for games at 1750, 1850 or 2000? Ideas i'd had included trueborn with Dark Lances (plus the extra venom), or maybe a couple of additional bombers? Perhaps more reaver jetbikes for extra heat lances?
Any ideas are most welcome Dakka!

For an increase in points, I would get a blaster for every kabbie squad so if you go up against a mech heavy list your venoms are not totally useless. I am surprised you don't have monster hunter on your shining spears. It is dirt cheap and makes the spears doubly lethal against an MC, so add it in. A flickerfield is good for your voidraven so you don't have to jink. Trueborn are another good idea, but I would go with blasters over dark lances to stay mobile. Adding another plane in for bigger games is also good to counter turkeys and armor saturation.

I think you need more anti tank.
Trueborn with blasters, ravagers, razorwings/voidravens.
Maybe even haywire wyches.
And yeah, get blasters for those warrior squads.
Other than that, looks a pretty good list.

Guys, thanks very much for your points. I fully agree with everything that has been said - 1500 points was an extreme exercise in trimming the fat! Notice that I could only afford 1 Shuriken Cannon on 1 unit of guardians!!!!
What do you think of the below for 1750?

I had to drop monster hunter again to keep it under 2k!
I think these are better - still plenty of scoring and poison, but the anti tank ramps up as the points do. What do you guys think?

Looks pretty good.
I would probably drop the night shields on the venoms, you're going to want to get within 18" to use those blasters and at that range the -6" wont do much apart from maybe melta, but lets face it, at armour 10, even rolling 1d6 chances are it will penetrate.
That saves you 40 points.
I would also drop the arena champ upgrade on the bikes.

I disagree slightly. Night shields do not offer protection once you need the blasters, but they are liable to give you 1-2 extra turns of life from your venoms. Venoms die fast, and DE can be wiped in 2-3 turns, so you need every bit of protection you can grab.
Night shields give you breathing room, so you can kite instead of fight. Having the shields gives you a better chance of getting into blaster range instead of footslogging or dying from an explosion.
I forgot to ask in my first post, where is the baron going? Which group of bikes? His stealth and LD are invaluable, so use wisely.
I agree about dropping the champ for 6 bikes, but at 9 you really need the leadership boost to keep that expensive investment on the table.

I would also agree that I need to keep the nightshields - keeping out of Rapid fire range of S4 (or pulse rifles) may just squeeze that extra bit of survivability out of the venoms.
The Baron usually goes with the shining spears as they snake up the table - unless I REALLY need to outflank them. Then he hitches a ride with a guardian unit. That way the shining spears turbo boost up to D6 (whatever the Baron rolls for his run) to get +1 to Jink. So as they are skilled riders, they will get a total of +3 to their cover save with the Baron, This usually gets them up the table into assault Obviously there may be times when they need to go faster, in which case it should be easy for the baron to fall back into a Guardian unit.
What do you guys think of the extra bombers? I think theyre probably the best bet against larger enemy armour. The void mines give me that extra chance as well to pop something.

The bombers are key for your AA, heavy AT, and blasting big nasties. They work very well, just hope they come in on time!
If the baron is with the spears(smart cause you get grenades) remember they would have a 2+ save for turbo boosting. 4+ is normal for turbo boost, then +1 for skilled rider, +1 for stealth! He also gives them that invaluable hit and run, so I see now why your exarch does not have it.

With 3 bombers, I'd hope that would be sufficient!
Yes that's definately the plan for the Baron. I'm glad to see the positive feedback for this list. I'm relatively new to using Dark Eldar, so the feedback is encouraging.
