Most of the people at my college's group are new to warhammer, so we're playing small games to get them used to the game. I don't want to take it easy on anyone, but I don't want to annihilate them either. I'm wondering if people feel this list is reasonable, or if it may be a bit OP. My main concern is the Land Speeders, I'm not sure a new player would be prepared to fight them.
The opposing armies are likely going to be Ork/Eldar/SM, written by another vet player.

Chapter Tactics
Iron Hands

HQ
90 Librarian, Force sword, ML2

Troops
120 Tactical Squad (5), Plasma Gun, Rhino

115 Tactical Squad (5), Meltagun, Rhino

Fast Attack

175 Land Speeder Squadron (3):
Land Speeder, Heavy Bolter, Typhoon Missile Launcher
Land Speeder x2, Heavy Bolter

Total 500 even.

Comments greatly appreciated.

I have found that landspeeders, or any vehicle in general has been lackluster in 6th edtion.

Instead of the three landspeeders, how about running three attack bikes with heavy bolters for (135), you have extra points to play around with.

I'll try it with the landspeeders first, but I like the idea of attack bikes (they're a unit I like, but I forget they exist for some reason...) What would I spend 40 points on though? I could give the libby terminator armor, and maybe combis for sergeants?

If you put Lib in term armor I would throw one tac squad in a pod instead of a rhino simply to let him join it.

Other wise you could also throw him on a bike for 25.

Or you could upgrade a rhino to a razorback

I totally forgot models in terminator armor couldn't get in rhinos...
Putting him on a bike should work well with a bike squad or an attack bike squad.
I thought about a razorback, but in this list I plan to have 2 guys fire out of the rhino, can't do that with a razorback. Plus, I think they are a little too pricey.
The drop pod idea would also work well, I may have to get some drop pods to try it out.

Skimmers are a little tough for new players, but that's balanced by the fact that they're so fragile.

What threatens to make the list overpowered is the combination of Iron Hands chapter tactics, the low point value of the games, and the inexperience of the other players. Unless your opponents can bring enough firepower to straight-up kill one or more landspeeders a turn at 36", the It Will Not Die special rule will make it pretty easy for you to keep at least one healthy landspeeder up front. In higher point games, that wouldn't be a huge problem, but dealing with a total of six regenerating hull points capable of firing at range could be a real issue for new players at 500 points, especially when they also have to deal with 6 regenerating hull points worth of Rhinos. It might be a little more sporting to run them individually instead of together as a squadron.
