Subject: Warhammer 40,000 Necron Army need advice on building

I'm entering the school league as the leader, and I need the best army I can for the 600 point event. I'm playing Necrons, and below I will list the units I can field (everything is almost fully painted and based, just some aren't even undercoated yet). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am likely to not use it, but I hope this will open my eyes to what archetypes I can run and what I can play that works together. I also have £50 of spending money.
-40 necron warriors (would play immortals, but I think it's not worth the extra cost for a gauss blaster)
-3 destroyers
-One unpainted Cryptek
-Trazyn the Infinite
-Necron Overlord
-Monolith
-Annhialation Barge
-C'tan Shard (I only have this because I friend gave it to me. Not very good in small battles and far too expensive.)
- 5 lychguard (arms not yet modelled on due to painting technique)
-5 deathmarks/Immortals (unassembled)
-Anything I can by with £50.
Like I said, any advice would be useful and combos I could be revealed to or what upgrades I should take. Should I take Trazyn with some lychguard to charge an enemy army? Should I buy a nightscythe for those skyfights, or maybe splash out a little and by a doom scythe? By the way, anyone who doesn't play necrons but has played them before please point out certain weaknesses and strengths you perticularily noticed (I know the Strengths etc. but I want to see what other people think)

With the 40 warriors you could look at running a phalanx. Couple of ghost arks and you could have a decent list.

That isn't possibly. I only have 600 points (I did say) and 10 necron warriors is 130 points. 130X 4= 520. I can't even afford a HQ after that. It's a good thought. Also, ghost arks would be useful but again are too expensive to field in a 600 point game if I'm going to run a phalanx. I could run 20 and 2 ghost arks and an overlord but that would make my army very weak to heavy weapons.

Sorry that's my fault for quick posting. I didn't mean use all 40 it was more considering that you have them available. My bad...
2 questions:
Are you using standard FoC?
What is your meta? (How many heavy weapon can they field at 600 points)

H.Q.:
Overlord (90); joins squad of 9 Warriors
Troops:
- 9x Warriors (117) marching through cover to claim objectives
- 10x Warriors (130) marching forward through cover to claim objectives
Heavy Support:
- Annihilation Barge (90); cover fire for the Warriors -- target troops
- Doomscythe (175); kills troops, terminators, other flyers, AV14 & hurts monstrous creatures (bought with your £50)
Total: 602 points
*NOTES:
- Your Warriors without will be relatively weak without resurrection orbs. Remember that these guys will win you the game, so support and cover them at all costs
- When running flyers, you want your opponent to bring his in first so that when you arrive, you can begin gunning him. This is big, especially if you don't have a quad gun (or any other anti-air)
- I don't know how strict about points the tournament is going to be. I normally just play among friends, so 2 points over/under is fine by us
- This isn't the most balanced list I could think of, but given what you've got it's the closest thing to it. If you encounter Terminators/ TEQs, they'll CRUSH your Warriors like crispy cereal, under the pitiless fist of a 3 year old!! The best way to deal with TEQs in this list is by flooding them with volley after volley after volley. If your Doomscythe isn't yet on the table, use the barge and rapid fire the sh%t out of them with your Warriors. Once they even start to tickle you in close combat, you're done
- This list is vulnerable to close combat armies and, to some extent, to flyers if you're not careful. If you had the points and cash to spend, I'd recommend a minimum of 6 to 12 Wraiths with whip coils. Not many people talk about them, because you have to use them to see their value

Immortals are not just good for, what I believe you meant, tesla, but also the 3+ save instead of 4+. These guys are essentially warriors without the res orb.
If your group would allow you to proxy I would probably do that personally.
However if they wouldnt, I would run 1 dlord with res orb and mss. Take 2 annihilation barges (I know you said you had 1, I would spend your 50 on another), and then fill the rest of the list with as many warriors as you can. If points are an issue just keep it at 1 barge. Barges just cannot be passed up as theyre only 90 points and you get ridiculous fire power with AV13. Take tesla on the barge and you'll be fine. 600 points is not a lot of points, so I cant imagine flyers will be seen much at all, especially if you're playing standard FO. Dlord and a squad of warriors to help capture and contest objectives, while sending the second squad else where. The gauss will easily handle any mec that comes out, glancing on 6 regardless of armor, plus you have rapid fire. Then the barges and tesla hitting two extra times on 6's, and one of the guns re-rolling missed shots. I think you'd be solid.

Love the army list, but one problem. 2 points too expensive. Maybe take away a warrior. It's the warhammer world school league so they will be EXTREMELY strict on how many points. Also, heavy infantry and flyers will wreck my army, and the annhi barge also has the problem of being extremely vulnerable to lascannons (happened to me a lot, and they're surprisingly cheap for such a good weapon). I was thinking of running a list similar to this, actually, but maybe 2 night scythes (i've got more money now), the warriors, a pimped out overlord... possibly. That's a very good idea, actually. Might get wrecked by heavy infantry though, but in a 600 points game I could focus fire them. They won't allow to proxy, because schoo league is run by GW and is an inter-school league, but is called the School League. I'll consider it.
