So, thinking about buying the battleforce and annihilation barge as a relatively cheap way of starting, which I think can make the below:

5x warriors – 180

5x Scarabs – 75

Annihilation Barge – 90

Would this be any good at all in a 750 game? Any tweaks or relatively cheap purchases to make it better? Or suggestions at a way of starting out instead of buying the box/barge?

I'm interested with the responses to this lot as I'm considering starting crons as we'll but will love to include some tome blades as I love these models along with the death marks

The big advantage of the ghost arc is its ability to regenerate fallen warriors - probably good to associate it with the larger group of warriors... Also a night scythe is probably better than the deathmarks...

The cost of the box doesn't save you enough to make up for having a list that isn't as useful as otherwise available IMHO

Also wraiths are the coolest model available to my tastes.

Obvs its great to have stuff you just like the look of ( I have a C'Tan - most useless waste of points, but cool and fluffy). But from the point of view of effectiveness within a game, that is the general thinking I believe.

So the best thing to do would buy the things we want/need rather than making the list around the box ? Yet to get the codex or any models as I'm unsure if I want to play crons or d,eldar but I think crons are winning atm

I was asking about whether this is any good at 750, I know it's not cheesy optimal. Next stage would be to add stuff like more warriors or immortals, night scythe, wraiths, dlord and another barge, to take upto about 1500.

As starting with that stuff would make quite low count small/dull list at 750, I thought.

Well.... a thousand point list can have a scythe, two anni barges and six wraiths (they are v cool!). If you are being super cheesy a thousand point list can easily have four scythes.

But obviously you've got to go for what moves you!

Any good necron player will tell you that none of those are must haves. They are the best for what they do, but other options are available that will also win games.

I like this 750 list. It's simple and effective.
