So I have recently made my army which is personally I think better than what I started with
HQs: Commander Dante, Mephiston
Troops: 5 Sanguinary Guard (Dantes rule), 10 man tactical squad, 8 man tactical squad, 14 Death Company+1 lemartes and 5 man assault squad
Elites: 6 Sternguard guard

Equipment? How's the sternguard and tacticals keeping up?

Sternguard: 2x lascannons, 4 bolt guns.
10 man tactical squad: melta squad 1x multi melta 1x meltagun the rest have bolt guns and the sergeant has a bolt pistol and a chain sword
the equipment is well there is really none because all my points go into my HQs, Sanguinary Guard, and Death Company
I'm planning on getting a drop pod to put my tactical in and I usually just keep sternguard in the back for Heavy gun support

You don't want to keep sternguard at the back supporting with 2 las, their bolters will rarely want to target the same thing and devestators will do this for far cheaper. If you are investing in a pod, drop the sternguard with combis. Usually works the best!

Played a game today and sternguard got rushed and didn't even get to shoot
This usually happens when I play them
But then again my death company (assault) and tactical marines get rushed too

First off the way this list is written is extremely hard to comprehend and make sense of as it's not really clearly layed out in the listing upgrades and such, this will definitely hamper people's ability to help you.

Tbh this list is abit busted even for friendly games you have 400+ Pts in hqs for almost no purpose in this list, lemartes just furthers this point sink, start your list with something like a simple divination Libby with pack, cheap and quite effective

You need to figure out what type of list your going for, DOA ( a reason to take Dante), drop pod assault, mech, or a more efficient hybrid thereof, etc.

Troops wise drop the DC to 10, do they have jump packs? If so drop them massive sink of points, this goes back to the original point either they should be used for counter assault or be mounted preferably in a pod

Stern need to be outfitted for the type of list your running they are one of the most versatile units in the game they can handle most foes in most scenarios if kitted and applied properly for the task

Wheres your priests at? Even just picking up one for 50 Pts to stick in a infantry formation is a great force multiplier, in general you need to bulk up on actual things that kill the enemy as a whole our severely lacking, the sanguinary guard are burning points they probably never even come close to making back

Dco with jump packs are just not worth it. lemartes is one of my all time favourite characters but they screwed him by making him so expensive and no option to remove Jp. you need more bodies sang guard + dante is a point sink imo that never works especially when riptides have EWO

I greatly appreciate your advise but coming to the realization that these guys aren't for the kind of play style I'm looking for.
When I made the post I wasn't paying attention to the layout that much.
and I'm not saying that they are bad or anything but to me they just seem like you have to play them so precise to even have a chance.
but in all I really like their fluff and they are on my top 5 for favorite marine chapters but I think I'm going to try out Necrons for awhile
And also I don't think I was ready for this kind of army

The army is outdated and based off of assault concepts in a overwhelmingly shooting focused edition, things can be hard going with them if you don't put in some work to learn the finer points but the same can be said for most armies, though some are far more point and clicky than others ( tau, crons)
