Hi everyone, I have been admiring those old Epic models, and many have Apoc datasheets now (of course some are older but still pretty useable), but still no Firelord! So in keeping step with the ridonkulous Lord of Skulls, here's what I came up with, what do you think?

Points Cost 999
[i]Hull Points
9
AV 12/12/12
BS4

Special Rules:

Daemon, Daemonforge, It Will Not Die, Adamantium Will, **Soaring Lord of the Skies

Weapons and Equipment:
-(1) Nose-mounted Cannon of Change
-(1) Turret-mounted The Great Eye of Magnus (under the fuselage)
-(2) Wing-mounted heavy-bolter cannons OR upgrade to (2) Wing-mounted Baleflamers for 90 points

Weapons: Range Str AP Special

Cannon of Change Hellstorm 7 2 Heavy 1, Torrent, Fleshbane, Armorbane, Gets Hot
Soul Blaze, Primary Weapon

*The Great Eye of Magnus 36" 7 2 Heavy D6+3, Interceptor,
Primary Weapon

Heavy-bolter cannon 36" 5 4 Heavy 9

Baleflamer Template 6 3 Heavy 1, Torrent, Soul Blaze

*The Great Eye of Magnus: It is rumored the one-eyed Primarch himself designed the Firelord. Any psyker in a unit hit by this weapon immediately suffers a Perils of the Warp wound. It also adds +1 to AP rolls against vehicles that count as a psyker. In addition to its ranged weapon profile, the Great Eye of Magnus makes the Firelord count as a character.

**Soaring Lord of the Skies: The Firelord is a huge sky-borne construct and generally must maintain a loftier presence and higher velocity to stay airborne.

-It must Zoom at least 24” per Movement phase and can Zoom up to 48” and it does not have
Hover mode.
-The Firelord may Vector Strike with D6+3 hits at Strength 9/AP3.

I edited this to reflect the alterations suggested below.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

I think the firebird is a tad incredibly overpowered. Raise its points and get rud of coruscating warp fire I think.

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

I don't think it should be raised in price, we must achieve the fluffiness of the Lord of Skulls. So 999 points it must be.

But perhaps I did get a little Tzeentch happy. We'll get rid of the Coruscating Warp Fire altogether (I just miss that 4th edition goodness). Good old Grimoire or Forewarning can augment that!

And I will lower the Eye of Magnus to S7/AP2. 7+2 still =9. Being the Eye of Magnus though I think Interceptor is still warranted. Twin-linked I guess is overdoing it, but I'm thinking it should actually be BS4 like the Silver Tower of Tzeentch.

We'll change the Cannon of Change to plain Torrent then (even though 18" is divisible by 9!); and how about S7/AP2, with Fleshbane and Armorbane and Gets Hot. Makes sense that it would get hot. And forget the crazy Spawn template (that was an homage to the Slayer of Souls).

Bombs, I can live without bombs. I'd rather have wing cannons like the old Epic model. How about a pair of wing-mounted triple-heavy bolters, upgradeable to a pair of Baleflamers for 90 points?

But then you would be at 1089...

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

True, true, but that's divisible by 9 too
