Librirarian goes with the assault marines. Assault marines grab some field objectives, while the home objective goes on top of the bastion. Droppod Furioso goes looking for some juicy transport (Battlewagon, Landraider) and sees if he can melter it. The rest just drives forwards and starts some fires.

Problems I could see: Lack of anti-air, few and fragile objective holders, not much that can reliably deal with vehicles
Assumed Strengths: Lots of AP3 and AP2, It's a spam list = hopefully the enemy hasn't got enought anti-av, hordes will probably melt

Well, nice idea. But it will hardly work. Not sure if this army has enough firepower to keep other armies at arm's length. Try it out against, say Wraiths or Nob Bikers. Three small troop units is a bit less.

I like the idea, however right now.. Other armies will do the same job done, but cheaper.

Librarian is cheaper in other Codex
WW is cheaper in other codex
Better troop choices are better in other codex.

I would skip the shields on Vindicators, I would play all Baals with AC HB ss.

I would play las/plas razors

I would probably skip the WW and the bastion, for Stormraven, but then I guess you are quite far from the purpose of your list.

The problem is, that the other codex can't field the same amount of tanks before 2xFOC, and as I said, this is a spam list and relies on the high amount of Tanks.


I think that Las/Plas Razors are much to expensive for what they bring. Especially since I want them to be low priority targets so they survive long enough to score.

Also for my taste Assault cannons aren't really good enough at any given task. They can engage a range of targets, but not reliably enough that they would be my first choice (low AP, middle range S, and rending is pretty unreliable).


The stormraven might be a good idea, but I don't know wether it would be good in this list. A flak gun has the bonus of interceptor, and with most flyers being low AV they are a pretty good way to control where your enemy will deploy his flyers, especially when you can place it on top of the bastion where it will get very little sight-block. It also synergizes well with the camo-cloaks, whereas the stormraven doesn't offer a scoring unit.

Admittedly the shields are only there cause they look cool. xD


Thoughts?

I would personally get rid of siege shields, dozer blades and spotlights and spend the upgrades somewhere else. Outflank those flamestorms! The furioso doesn't really fit in the list very well as it'll be dropping unsupported, is the only thing you want in combat and will prevent any vindi shots near it.
If you drop the furioso and bastion as well as the other upgrades on the tanks you can afford a raven and more. Also i dont have my dex on me atm but youve costed those dozer blades on the assault baal at 25pts... thats surely not right is it?

This is what I would do:
3 unupgraded baals will come to 345, 2 unupgraded vindis and whirlwind will come to 380. Cost of your tanks atm - 725 gives you 60pts spare. 60 + bastion + furioso + whirlwind (free up another hs slot) = 445
For 445 i would get a raven, taking it to 245. Then I would either a) upgrade a razor to a landraider (these excel when around massed tanks, absorbing fire and keeping those essential assault marines alive longer) and upgrade the flametorms with hfs for a really threatening outflank/scout move, or b) get two more scoring assault squads in razors and have 5 pts spare.

A flyer does fit in with the idea of blitzkrieg! I mean the axis blitzkreig was planes and tanks.

I think it will work. I would get rid of all the flamer baals though. Without torrent they are just going to get charged and destoryed way to fast.

Also, your objective can't be placed on top of a fortification.

Baals Outflank to keep them out of sight, until the Landraider and the Vindicators opened up some transports. They'll act in concert to minimize the risk of countercharges. Rest as before.

I'm going with the standard LR, since anti vehicle is the lists weakness atm.
Realized that the Searchlights were nonsense when no vehicle has a range greater than 24".
The Assault Baals price was a typo.
No HFs on the Flamestorm Baals since you can't snapfire templates.
