I have seen a few posts about the best weapon choices for dwarfs and quite a few times have I seen people recommend to give the Noble crossbows from start. Is this really possible?
According to the warband rules the Noble can only choose from the dwarf warrior-list, and there is no crossbows there...
I know that he can take shooting skills so he can choose the weapons expert-skill to be able to equip the crossbow. But have I missed something important wich says that he can equip it from start?

No, you have not missed anything, the Dwarf Noble cannot be equipped with a crossbow, until he acquires the 'weapons expert' skill. The Engineer is the only hero you can equip with a crossbow in a completely new dwarf warband.
