Hello all. This list has been something I've been thinking about since the farsight supplement came out. Including O'Vesa and an allied detachment Tau have the ability to take up to 5 riptides. Threw a list together and want to see what everyone's opinion is on it. I've got a tourny coming up soon and wanted to run something a little nutso.

Primary Detachment: Farsight Enclaves

HQ: 470

Commander Farsight
Honor Guard O'Vesa

Elites: 670

XV104 Riptide Battlesuit
Ion Accelerator, Fusion Blaster, Talisman of Arthas Moloch, Stim Injector
XV104 Riptide Battlesuit
Ion Accelerator, Fusion Blaster, Earth Caste Pilot Array, Early Warning Override
XV104 Riptide Battlesuit
Heavy Burst Cannon, SMS, Velocity Tracker, Early Warning Override

Troops: 303

Crisis Team - 3
Plasma Rifle, and TL Flamer
Crisis Team - 1
TL Fusion Blaster, Fusion Blaster
Crisis Team - 1
TL Missile Pod, Velocity Tracker
Crisis Team - 1
Cyclic Ion Blaster

Fast Attack: 150

Tetra
Tetra
Tetra

Heavy Support: 0

Allied Detachment: Tau Empire

HQ: 145

Commander
Puretide Chip, Multi-Spectrum Suit, Command and Control Node, Drone Controller, Neuroweb Jammer

Elite: 205

XV104 Riptide
Heavy Burst Cannon, SMS, Early Warning Override, Velocity Tracker

Troops: 54

Firewarriors - 6

Strategy:

Farsight joins the 3-man Crisis Team to deep strike onto the board and roast a squad real quick. Fusion Crisis deep strikes to deal with pesky armour, if necessary. Missile suit jumps around shooting flyers and popping transports. Ion blaster can pop transports or shoot up infantry.

Tetras are the mobile markerlights. Used primarily for the riptides but can be used elsewhere if necessary.

Because O'Vesa is an independent character he can join another Riptide and the Commander, allowing each riptide to benefit from the ignore cover saves and TL of their weapons. Was gonna these two to the Talisman Riptide to give it some more support. Drone controller on the commander is used for O'Vesa's drones.

The remaining Ion riptide will jump around solo, but always nearby to the talisman guy. Ion Accelerators will target vehicles and infantry, prioritizing transports.

The heavy burst cannon riptides will be targeting any infantry out in the open and also shoot into any incoming flyers.

Firewarriors stay off table as long as possible and may grab back objectives. Thought about changing them to a kroot squad and outflanking with snipers but haven't decided yet.

Let me know what you guys think about this. The big problems I see will be dealing with flyers, and possibly psykers. I know the talisman is great vs them but only if they target my guys. If you see a problem let me know.

Looks like a standard O'VesaStar list, though it looks to be illegal. O'Vesa has an Earth Caste Pilot Array and until an FAQ or at least the print version comes out you can't have two Earth Caste Pilot Arrays in the same army. Either way, the ECPA is way better on a HBC Riptide than an IA Riptide.

Give all your IA Riptids EWO, almost no reason not to.

Drop the stim from your riptide, with five you have no need for it. Eitherway, a Stim is still better on a Riptide that is attmepting NOVA Reactor every turn without the benefit of an ECPA, so an HBC Riptide.

Drop the EWO for a Target lock on the Riptide to plan on joining O'Vesa and the Buffmander to. Shooting at two targets is better than one.

You have a Drone Controller on your Buffmander but no drones in the entire army capable of benefiting from it.

Plasma/TLFlamer is a pretty inefficient setup for your Suit. Better off going TL Plasma/Flamer for the same points or going double weapon an scrounging the points. TLMissile Pods is probably best on your troops, you don't want them getting close to the enemy.

A Squad of two suits with Dual Fusion Blasters and a target lock is generally a better home for Farsight.

Your whole Scoring contingent is equal to 14 marine(worse due to ID) and 6 T34+ models. I know it gets said alot, but this army will have major difficulties scoring objectives. I have more troops in my 1500pt Enclave army with drones for ablative wounds an its difficult to keep them alive. Be careful.

At this points level I see 5 Riptides as a waste, you'd probably be better off with 4 an bolstering your scoring units, even with more 23pt naked scoring troops or 28 with a single Flamer or possibly picking up a pair of Skyrays(drop a Tetra to make possible). With the 5th Riptide and weaker scoring section I see this list as much weaker than the 1850 Nova list that inspired it.
