Entering my first 40k tournament on Saturday. It's a doubles set-up: two players per team, 1000 points each. I'm playing mono nurgle and My partner is going undivided. I was hoping I could put our combined army list up here and you guys could point out any big mistakes.
My list.:
HQ: Typhus
Troops: 7 Plague Marines(plasmas & VotLW- Sgt has melta bomb) and 35 Plague zombies
Fast Attack: Heldrake
Heavy Support: 3 solo Obliterators each with mark of nurgle and VoTL
My teammate (I'm not so sure what his upgrades are and I have no say in what his list is like. here's what I actually know.):
HQ:Terminator lord MoT chainfist combi melta
Troops: Cultists(10)
chaos marines(10) MoN plasma/heavy bolter
Fast Attack: 2 heldrakes- 1 Hades-1baleflamer
Heavy Support:Vindicator
With the upgrades I do have listed the list comes out to just under 850.
(Pretty sure everyone has VotLW)

They seem sound. Its all tactics now. But you only have 4 units that can score between the two of you. The ten cultists are real squishy. The third heldrake is a bit excessive. Oblits are always solid. Maybe pull a drake and then swap his hq for a loaded DP. Id also swap the vindicator for oblits due to the increased usefulness and survivability.
You say you hate it but you wont do anything about it? What the serious ork?
I don't think he has any oblits. I do have a daemon prince that he can use (wings power armor MoN Black mace). How about a forgefiend instead of the vindicator? I've never used them but I've heard fairly good things.
Also I've always heard that its best to have one troop choice per 500 points. Is this not so? I was thinking 4 troops for 2000 wasn't so bad.
