Hi, I'm new to the Tau and Warhammer 40k in general. After reading through the rules and codex I came up with the following 2000pts army list.

I'm going to use this as a mostly static army with a few mobile units (mainly my crisis suits). Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

HQ
XV8 Crisis Commander - 212

- Target Lock, Drone Controller
- Multi-Spectrum Sensor Suite, Puretide Neurochip, Iridium XV8-02 Battlesuit
- 2x Marker Drone

Ethereal - 50

The idea is that the Ethereal will be supporting my FW troops while the XV8 Commander will move around the table supporting the other units with his support systems and markerlights.

I don't really like the Kroot Warriors, so I ended up with 4 FW squads, each with a Shas'ui to bump up their Ld.

I have one specialized Helios XV8 unit to deal with heavy targets. Since they will have to move in closer than the other units I gave them Shield Drones in order to increase their survivability. I also added a generic Fireknive unit to give me a bit of flexibility and support for the other units.

Fast Attack

6x Pathfinders - 76

The Tetra Scouts and the pathfinders are my main markerlight sources. The Tetra's are my mobile markerlight source, while the pathfinder unit will be more static, hiding in good cover / behind the FW gunline.

- 1x TL Heavy Rail Rifle + TL SMS, Velocity Tracker
- 2x TL High Yield Missile + TL SMS, Early Warning Override
- 3x Missile Drone

Hammerhead - 191
- Railgun + Submunition Rounds + TL SMS

- Longstrike

Hammerhead - 140
- Ion Cannon + TL SMS
- Disruption Pod, Blacksun Filter

Tried to keep the XV88 unit as flexible as possible, thus giving one suit a rail rifle and the two others missiles. Not sure if the missile drones are the best option, maybe better to replace them with shield drones?
Maybe replace the second Hammerhead with a Sky Ray? This will give me an extra markerlight source and some additional points to spend on other stuff.
