My Chaos Marines fly pre-heresy EC colours, meaning that they use purple armour with gold trim and white pauldrons, wristguards and shinguards. I have now assembled some Slaaneshi cultists, using regular Cadians with a mix of Cadian heads and Hellstrider heads (EC cultists = legitimate reason for not scraping off the aquilas).

Using aforementioned paint scheme, what would work best? I'm entertaining the idea of purple combat fatigues, brown boots and other leather apparel, white armour and gold trim where applicable, but I'd like a second opinion before any brushes touch 'em.

You could keep the color schemes basically the same, purple armor, white pauldrons, ect., and pick either a more neutral time for the fatigues, or even like a lighter/darker shade of purple to mimic the ec full armor suit.

For cadians? I'd say to go for purple armor plating, browns for the cloths, and gold for the trimming. White is a funky color to work with in that style, but I think that the white pauldrons might be passed up for purple. However, you could do the trimming on the cloth in white: The pocket trim, the cuffs, the canteens, etc.

Of course, for a completely unanimous paint scheme, you could also go purple cloth, with white armor plates / weapons, and gold trimming.

For cultists I'd go with Mainly purple armour with some white sections, gold highlights and possibly tan/dark brown fatigues
