Hey all,
I'm Nick and I just joined Dakka and rejoined the wargaming universe after a 10+ year hiatus.
My wargaming story is probably similar to many of yours. Got into it as a kid, got out of it as a teenager and am now sucked back in as a 20-something.
I've spent the last month getting primed on the 6th edition 40k rules and will probably primarily be focused on getting back into that, although I played a fair amount of Fantasy back in the day as well. Basically I started with 40k Dark Angles, moved to High Elves and Dogs of War (#&^% GW for make them disappear), and started shifting back to IG before stepping away from the table for a decade. I now think I'm going to put my resources towards getting a good IG list going (already have reams of fluff built up in my head).
I now live in Istanbul and my armies should be arriving in the next few days. I was thinking I'll probably sell off the Fantasy stuff and reinvest in IG, while using most of the DA for conversions, terrain, etc. I've heard a lot of negativity about the new Fantasy rules, but I supposed I could be talked back into playing some of that if someone can give me an alternate take on it all. Anyways, I look forward to getting back into the community. Leafing through the Dakka gallery and tactica discussions was a major reason why I decided to take the plunge again.
