We just started a campaign and are keeping it small so we can get a few games in per night. My first list was a fly tyrant some hormagaunts and some devil gaunts and it pulled a tie, but i want to increase my model count, and synapse creatures. I came up with this list.

500 Pts - Tyranids Roster

HQ:
Tyranid Prime (1#, 115 pts)
Lash Whip & Bonesword;
Scything Talons
Adrenal Glands
Toxin Sacs

Troops:

10 Termagant Brood, 100 pt
Devourer

2 Tyranid Warrior , 105 pts
1 Tyranid Warrior
Venom Cannon

Elite:
1 Zoanthrope, 60 pts

Fast Attack:
20 Gargoyle Brood, 120 pts

Total Roster Cost: 500

This list gives me 35 models on the board. The gargoyles are to soak up rounds and get close fast, while the rest of the Army advances. I love Devilgaunts and they always pay for themselves. I will be facing Black Templars, Vanilla marines, Orks and Necrons, with unknown lists. Any tweeks you all can give or advice would be helpful. I apologize in advance if i did not format correctly kinda new here and i am a new Nid/6th ed player if it helps at all.

I from experience playing against nids I would add more devilgaunts and drop a few gargoyles because those ten devilgaunts are a easy first blood

Thanks added 3 more devil gaunts and dropped 5 gargoyles, so both units "Should" make it through a round of shooting
