Hello Dakka

This is the first time I've uploaded a picture of my work. WIP pic of my Tervigon.. 90% done minus the base. Still haven't decided what I want to do for the base. I would love to hear any opinions and/or suggestions you guys may have. More pictures will be uploaded shortly. Thank you!

My first though: Mmmm mint choc icecream!

The top carapace is niceand the colours complement each other.

Your (or rather the Tervigon's) fleshy bits need more detail. Look rather bland IMHO. Maybe some contrasting colour on the veins and more of that light green -> white highlighting on the larger sections of the sac. Also some wash in the top green fleshy bits in the carapace followed by a little of the light hightlighs you've used on the sac would give it the detail it needs.

Excellent effort so far! :-) What are your plans for the base?

Get your models on the table and looking good!

I like the carapace, the colour transitions are a bit too 'sharp' for my tastes on the vents particularly.

I love the colour choices!

The colour pallete works rather well together, and you've got some good use of technique in various places. I especially like the feathering on the armour plates. I'll enjoy seeing this fellow completed!

Only thing I can think of is using a wash of biel-tan green on the veins.
Also, you ARE going to tell me how you did the carapace.

Thank you all for the comments.

I'll put some more work into the sac. I have biel tan wash (I think) and I can try white or rotting flesh highlights on it as well. I also want to paint the spawnling.. possibly bloody red or slimy green.. I just don't know how I should approach it or what to go with.

@the shrouded lord: As far as the carapace goes.. I paint the whole thing Rhinox hide, I then follow the raised edges with mournfang brown and then go over it again with balor brown making sure to leave some mournfang showing. I guess a feathering Technique

I have no clue what I'm going to do for the base... Ideas/suggestions welcome

I reckon more of the slimy green to a stretched pale white look like you have going on the smaller sacs? Maybe a little bit of red in the veins to offset the green?

As for the base, what theme / origin do you have in mind for your Nidz?
