I think it'd not be such a bad idea to figure out how to put some scoring troops into your vendettas. For example, you could sacrifice something like the advisors and a single chimera to move the now chimera-less squad into a vendetta and getting a new melta/plasma/flamer veteran squad into the other vendetta.

The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.

I agree with you in theory, but for the troops to safely jump out of the vendetta it would have to hover, and the odds of it surviving that are very slim (in the early stages of the game at least) Furthermore, in my experience i need as many chimeras (or chimera chassis) as i can field for redundancy purposes, every chimera i remove from the list will put greater risk upon the others. However, i think it would be fisable to dump a griffon, swap a vet team for a PCS with flamers, and then put two infantry sqauds in the vendettas (with no/minimal upgrades) do you think i need an actual combat effective unit in the vendettas, or just mobile scoring units?
