Trying to stick together an army list with something of a theme (AP2 Shooting, High Toughness CC, AP2/3 CC Weapons, Poisoned Shooting other that AP2 shooting). Would like everyone at Dakka to have some input into it.

We all know that Dark Lances are something useful for Dark Eldar and it is difficult to get more of them into a Dark Eldar army without sacrificing a lot.

So I thought why not add some Brightlances instead...

This is my list as it stands now... It adds up to 1545 pts which leaves me with 305 to play with.

Can anyone suggest what I should spend those points on? If there is something missing its because I don't know what to take at the moment.

Notes

  • I don't think taking a Wave Serpent with the Wraithblades is a great idea as they cant assault out of it, might be better to foot slog and spend the 145pts on something else.

  • I need a HQ for the Dark Eldar.

  • I am a bit light on CC at the moment.

  • Maybe swap the Wraithblades to Wrathguard and take some Grotesques with the DE.

  • I don't have anything good as objective campers at the moment (pathfinders perhaps?).

  • Remember, whatever gets swapped out / in needs to be AP2 (or AP3 at a push), Poisoned or High Toughness

  • My local META is longish range, ignores cover type armies or space marine foot slogging armys. As such I need to have FF & NS on all the vehicles I can (or holo fields) and some Grisly Trophies would be good on a Dark Eldar CC squad to support the Wraithblades / Spiritseer.

Looking forward to seeing some of the replies

I'm running something pretty similar at the moment. My list is more fast attack based (you cant shoot me cause im already in your face kicking your ass). As such I'm really into wyches and incubi. That 3+ really comes in handy.

you may be leaning more into a haemoncolus army tho. lots of wracks at T 5 will definitely keep your opponent guessing. especially paired with a web gate

the duke is another good HQ if you do add some CC. Like any good dealer, he's got whatcha need.

whatever you do, add some raiders. A walking DE is a dead DE. plus they come with dark lances free. ravagers are nice, but still paper thin. its a lot of points to drop into something that will likely only fire twice. alternately, a aegis defense line, while anathema to DE, with a comm tower can not only give your back line kabalites some guaranteed cover, but really throw off your opponent when your reserves start coming in overwhelmingly fast.

I love my rangers as troops choices. vicious sniper rifles and lots of cover bonuses. war walkers are always amazing. keep a farsser close and near cover for the dreaded pop out attack and watch your opponent cry cheese.

wraithblade vs. guard is a tough call. I went blade with the axe since it looks more brutal on the table and the 4+ invul save will keep you cozy till you get to hit something. I like puting them in a wave serpent myself since its a great way to provide cover and soften up your enemy before you assault.

    hope that helps
