Hello fellow tau

Right a few things with your list 2 riptides in a thousand points I way overkill and I would equip them with the ion cannon early warning override and stim injectors (for if the nova reactor goes wrong)

Why two hq's especially a lone battle suit commander will just get nailed. And I just don't like ethreals especially naked they don't offer anything to the army

Kroot, small squads of pathfinders whose role is for marker lights, and drone squads are useless.

Drop the kroot for fire warriors, more pathfinders

And replace one riptide with a crisis suit team of 3 with fusion and plasma guns and a shield drone each, the. What ever upgrades you want
Then give the commander two marker drones, plasma rifle, fusion blaster, drone controller and iridium armour then he can roll with the crisis suits and use the drone controller so the marker drones use his bs skill and buff the rest of the army

Also maybe drop the skyray ( if you don't face flyers ) for a hammer head with submunitions

Hope that helps

Hi Marcus
Thanks for the tip! I was thinking about bringing 2 riptides would be too overkill,I think im going to bring Sky rays to counter the flyer. My local game store is crawling with them! but If I use Fire Warriors will Ethereal be good to cover them?

The ethreals are there to buff fire warriors yes but really that 50 points could be better spent on more upgrades etc

If you face flyers deffinatly keep the skyray

Yep looking better dude

Using the crisis suits in this way will make them very versatile for tank/ well armoured infantry hunting and the shield drones abit more surviveability

Riptide can clear masses of infantry of tanks if need be

Fire warriors mop up what's left and pathfinders do there thing

Good luck dude

Shas'la with Pulse Carbine

Fire warriors with an ethereal for pulse bubble will do more than clear up, 3 str 5 shots each at 15' range is ridiculous, they will be wiping anything out which falls short of charge range on pods/deepstrikes in. Don't forget they can move 6 and still benefit from the ethreals ability so really there range for 3
Shots each is 21' (including the move)

ok,So the basic Strategy of Tau is pop markerlights and pop plasma at enemies?
