Hi all, Still an Ork Newbie so any feedback on the below would be great. Plan is to run a Junka truck with KFF behind 2 battle wagons with the 2 mobs of boys flanking either side for all round 5+ cover.
Warboss - Mega Armour, Attack squig, Cyborg Bodies

Unfortunately the KFF isn't going to help much. An intelligent Eldar player will target the Trukk first with Shields and Scatter lasers from range. As such, on average you are looking at better than 80% chance of losing the Trukk in the very first salvo . This leaves your boyz easy pickings. The biggest challenge for the Eldar would be the Battle Wagons, which if he can get behind won't be a problem.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

I dont know how many points it would save but you dont need the big bomms as no eldar player is gonna infiltrate close to you and give away first blood. Vs orks rangers are gonna be kept back to try n snipe nobz to weaken the boyz resilience

Thanks for the feedback, The plan was to hide the junka truck right behind the 2 battle wagon's and try and keep it out of LOS.
I could drop the junka, 10 boys and a deffkopta and ally in a choas lord, 10 cultists and a heldrake.
BigBom's are only 30pts for the lot and they did well in my last game, I didnt put nobs in the boys squads as i though they would get snipped out pretty quickly.

I think it's a pretty good start. Is the Junka trukk an Elites choice? Some suggestions.
1. I assume you put your 2x meganobz + warbosses in the battlewagons? That means you have 3 x 20 footslogging boys units. I would change that into 2 x 30 boys so they stay fearless for longer.
2. Your warbosses really want Cybork bodies, that 5++ can really make a difference. Minimum for your warlord as you don't want to give awa Slay the warlord victory point too easily.
3. Try giving your 2 x 30 boys 3 big shootas each, they can make a lot of difference vs light vehicles such as eldar war walkers, vypers and DE raiders.
4.Your CSM ally proposal does not make sense. The chaos lord cannot join any ork unit as you are not battle brothers, so he would be alone. Cultists will do nothing and are inferior to boys. Helldrake is really good, but if you want a flier, then a Dakkajet is a very good unit, and way cheaper.
To finance the cybork body and big shootas, drop the bigbomm from one of the deffkoptas. One is enough to discourage infiltrating. Not that I would infiltrate rangers close to orks at all..

Yep plan was to put the mega nobz in the battle wagons and 10 boys in the junka to support them/take overwatch.
My original list had all Big shoota's so i will take that on board and add them back in, Is 2 x 30 better than 3 x 20? i thought it was more likely to get a squad to the other side of the board unscathed if i give them more targets to shoot at, might be wrong though.
Problem i can see is the boys mobs loosing 8+ boys per shooting phase and not making any ground, same thing happend in a game against Nids, I was killing 6" of Gaunts negating his movement totally, It was heavy terrain though.
The KFF Junka is 170 points so i might drop that and put in 2 x 30 boys and 1 x 20 all big shoota'd up should leave points for cyborg bodies Automatically Appended Next Post: Got rid of the Junka truck, upped the mobs so now 80 boys on the table, 8 Big Shoota's and added the cyborg bodies.
hoping that many boys will scare the pointy ears and he leaves the wagons to roll up and the 6 mega nobz and 2 warbosses to go and smash face, just worried about D-Sythe wraith guard and overwatch!

I think you will do better now. The whole point of 2 x 30 boyz instead of 3 x 20 is to keep them fearless. Because you'll probably loose 8-15 boys/mob before you reach combat, meaning that your 30 strong mob still is fearless, but your 20 strong would probably not have been.
Your new list looks good I think.

Well had the game last night and pleased to say i won, We ran out of time at the end of turn 5 and if it went to turn 6 i pobably would have been a draw. I decided at the last minute to drop some looters and the big bomms and make 2 units of 12 trukker boys
Star performers were the 2 x mega nobs - I got first turn and went flat out, the 2 battlewagons keeping the 2 truks out of LOS. Luckily for me 2 precienced bright lances wiffed their pen rolls with a 1 so the wagons kept rolling till turn 2! This let me drop off 1 lot of nobs to face down a wraith lord and the other to zip around a ruin to take on a guardian squad and the farseer warlord.
Also a note to 6 brave shoota boys who held up some 2+ wraithguard for 3 turns stopping them causing real damage with their D-Sythes, They did break out in the end and put an swift end to a squad of trukka boys and a warboss.
Booby prize goes to the grot kannons or one squad of loota's - The kannons killed 1 warp spider the whole game and that was on overwatch! and one poor squad of loota's got shot down by a wave serpant and the remaining few ran off the board!
Game ended 7-3 in my favour, Thanks for the advice.
