Hello all,

I've been building my Tau army piece by piece the past few months (mostly thanks to ebay and craig's list so that's the reason for odd numbers) and while still incomplete (need 3 more purchases to make it complete). I've put together a 1750 list with what I have for a fun 1750 game-day at my local comic book store today. Just wondering if you all might take a look see and see any major swaps that I might need.

HQ

Cadre Fire Blade (60 pts)

Commander ( 172 pts) Command and Control Node, EWO, Multi-spectrum Sensor Suite, Neuroweb System Jammer, Puretide Engram Neurochip, 2 x Plasma (non twin linked)

ELITES (581 pts)

Stealth Team (200 pts) 4 x BC, 2 FB with TL

Riptide (225 pts) EWO, IA, Stims, Twin linked plasma

Crisis Team (156 pts ) all with 2 x Missile Pods (non twin linked)

TROOPS

11 Fire Warriors (110 pts) - with bonding knife

11 Fire Warriors (200 pts) - with bonding knife + Devil Fish with SMS

11 Kroot (77 points) - Sniper Rounds

FAST ATTACK

Pathfinder Team (249 pts) - 9 Shas'la, 1 Shas'ui (blacksun filter), Recon Drone, Devil Fish with SMS

HEAVY SUPPORT

Hammerhead (175 pts) Railgun with submunitions, SMS, Hammerhead

Hammerhead (126 pts) Ion Cannon, SMS, Blacksun filter

The overall strategy:

HQ - Commander with the Crisis Team, Fireblade with non DF FW team

ELTES -

the Stealth team will deep strike the recon drone on the Pathfinder could assist this greatly. Goal is to land behind armor pop the rear armor with the FB (and marker light support) and thanks to target lock the other 4 members can mop up those that were inside. Once complete bust butt to a forest or ruins to get their 2+ Cover save.

The Riptide will move forward early and try to control the middle of the board and push forward he will be hard to kill thanks to the STIMS and 2+ Armor and will occupy a lot of attention also with the EWO he can be a pain in the 4th point of contact for anything coming in via deep strike. This unit will use marker light support

The Crisis team will be joined by the CDR and will be a takes on all. it will have 12 twin linked ignores cover 36 inch S7 shots that can re-roll to wound on vehicles or monstrous creatures thanks to buffs by the CDR. as for the CDR he will also be able to intercept deep strikers within 24 inches with his plasma rifles and still be able to provide the buffs to the team. this team will JSJ most of the game and can take on about anything outside of AV 14, also with twin link abilities to CDR buff serves as anti air. This unit does not need marker light support

TROOPS

infiltrate the kroot on an objective hopefully near a forest hold it as long as they can, use sniper rounds at anything that comes in range. 1 FW team will board the Fish and move to a deeper objective. The other FW team along with Cadre Fireblade will hold an objective near the backline and provide additional rear line fire support.

FAST ATTACK:

MARKER LIGHT SUPPORT that is all, use the Fish to scout forward to a good position then just mark priority targets use the DF to prolong their existence. this unit will probably not last long, but "hopefully" i can get the stealth team in there to help them out sooner rather than later. The recon drone can also assist in prolonging their existence

HEAVY SUPPORT

sit in the deployment zone, with Long Strike taking out vehicles with high AP, he really doesn't need marker light support due to his high BS and tank hunter. The Ion Head can move forward and support both anti infantry and anti light armor role.

What I have that i didn't use

3 Drone Sniper team
1 Piranha
TONS of drones of all types
2 Rail-finders
1 Kroot
a ton of magnetized seeker missiles i can add to vehicles

Well aware that this list has short comings, like only one source of marker light support but i think that it has been mitigated with the fact that Long Strike and the Missile Sides team really doesn't need Makerlights to be successful due to high BS and BUFFS. Also I have no true anti-air but broadsides are my next purchase.

let me know if you think i need to change this up at all with what I have or if you see any inherent errors in my planning.
