Ok, so, I have a doubles tourney coming up on the 8th Dec. Myself and my partner have decided to run Chaos marines, (yes I know they are weak but we want to show what they can do if used with good general ship).

The rules are: We can take 750 points each (total for combined force is 1500) and we have a single FOC between us, (he takes Hq and 2 Troops, I can take everything else). We cannot take allies, but with not many points who would any way.

My partners list is a bit unorthodox and he is using options you would rarely see, if at all. My trouble is, as we live to far away to playtest and talk about the list until the day, I have said he is to email his list and I would build around it.

When I recieved his list, I was shocked to say the least. So now I have come to the good people of Dakka to help and give advice. So without any more rambling from me here is what my partners list consists of and what I am thinking of adding.

Partners Chaos list:

Daemon prince - Khorne, Wings, PA, Black mace, Ichor blood = 270

10 Cultists - Flamer, Shotgun - 57
10 Cultists - Flamer, Shotgun - 57

Heldrake - Bale flamer - 170

Defiler - 195

TOTAL = 749

My list but can change if necessary:

Sorcerer - Mastery level 3, Mark Tzeentch, Aura dark glory, melta bombs = 145

5 Thousand sons - Melta bombs = 155
Rhino = 35

5 Thousand sons - Melta bombs = 155
Rhino = 35

3 Bikes - 2 Plasma guns = 100

Vindicator - Warp flame Gargoyles = 125

Total = 750

My thinking behind it was, that I will try to dominate using Psychic powers, while the bikes and Daemon prince act as distractions to the enemy. I know TS are seen as the inferior choice but I wreally like there fluff and looks of the models. There are a lot of horde players in my local meta so I feel that Tzeentch firestorm will help us out.

i think you may benefit from a lord on a bike and the only time i went against a vindi was when i was playing my orks and i nearly cried against stuff with a decent save you might be better off with something with a better AP value. The list seems to work together and it should work together. The only think you would need to worry about is deployment and that you and your partner communicate so that you dont make a mess of it but i think that you have a fairly good list that should far well against most

I would spring for a sigil of corruption for the sorcerer, combined with the mark you get a 3++, which is nice. Its only 10 points more, but well worth it. Drop some melta bombs to make points, or make the plasma guns melta guns. If the sorcerer is in the rhino casting is going to be limited. Going on a bike may be a better option, unless you can join the cultists for ablative wounds.

Swap the warpflame gargyoles for a combi bolter on the vindicator. Sure, it can only snap shoot all the time but it is weapon destroyed insurance.
