If you have absolutely no other models, you could still optimize some of your wargear.

Since your going to use your commander for fighting, and I assume put him with the crisis team, take the puretide neurochip. Tank hunters/monster hunter are both incredibly useful on fireknife suits. I would toss the shield generator for drones if you have them, or just go without.

Advanced targeting system is ok, but you can dump it for better things. Decent filler.

Only bond to waste points, but you could waste points in better places. Generally you want more fire warriors if you have them.

A good place to spend points is on seeker missiles. Great for hammerheads and skyrays, and with the extra markerlights you have plenty of ways to use them.

Longstrike brings a blacksun filter to the hammerhead, so drop it. This gives you enough points to take a neuroweb jammer on your commander, which you should do because it is criminally cheap&effective. I also like advanced repair systems on a longhead.

How do you see that bonding knife as a waste?

By the time bonding knives are needed, there is nothing worth saving. So long as the 'ui is alive, the unit can always regroup on full Ld(8 from the 'ui) so the only time the knives will matter is when the squad is below 25% and the 'ui is dead. In a 10 man squad, this means 2 fire warriors. If somehow 2 fire warriors break and run, but are alive, no big deal. Even if they regroup, they need 1 turn to regroup, then another turn to do something(full move, full BS shooting etc). It will rarely matter.

However, it is dirt cheap and particularly good for battlesuits. A few points to make sure your last suit does not jet off the table can be great. So it could be useful on the crisis team.
