Subject: A very weird, mechanized Blood Angels 1750 pt list

Now I know this makes no sense fluffwise, but I wanted to build something very weird, just for fun. Now everyone thinks Blood Angels cheapest access to our amazing fast razorbacks is 5man ASM squads, but to me, it seems like a waste to take away somebody's jump pack and there is actually a cheaper way to take them (if you don't count the tax) Death Company. Yes. Rage fuelled maniacs, in their minimum squad of three can take an "upgraded" (any of the nicer ones) razorback for 5 points less than a 5 man assault marine squad. So here's the list I wrote up
HQ:
Astorath the Grim
Troops:
3x Death Company w/ a TLd Las Razorback
3x Death Company w/ a TLd Las Razorback
3x Death Company w/ a TLd Las Razorback
3x Death Company w/ a TLd Las Razorback
3x Death Company in a drop pod, two powerfists
10x Assault marines, two melta guns
FA:
Baal Pred, TLAC
Baal Pred, TLAC
HS:
Pred, TLd Las
Pred, TLd Las
Pred, TLd Las
Could be fun to play with all those Lascannons and wonderful wonderful twinlinking. And if you need a distraction, 12 MSU Death Company will soak up a lot of firepower. Unless it's a heldrake, but that's what all *your* firepower is for.
As for tactics? Astorath goes in the pod with the two fists (really sucks to be whatever they get a charge off on) and the assault marines go into reserve, deepstrike them as combat squads. The two melta guns go tank hunting and the squad with the sarge hides, preferably on an objective. Possibly in the opponent's DZ. The rest should be self explanatory. Shoot stuff.

Ask yourself a question, "Are 7 Lascannons enough firepower to destroy an entire army?" since this is exactly what you have to do since you got no scoring units.
The DC without any upgrades are likely to be negligible against anything but MSU-spam.
The Droppod DC is all allone in the backfield of the enemy on turn 1 and will be shot to hell and back.
Predators without Sponsoons, are one very expensive fire platform.
I like the idea, but the volume of fire just seems too low for what it has to do.

Also with 12 DC that only allows 2 DC dreads (if im right in thinking it's one per 5 DC)
The points saved could get either side sponsons or MM attack bikes

TBH I don't think that it will work so well. While I LIKE the idea of spamming razorbacks with DC I think that two razorback assault squads would be better as you can sneak in a melta or something. You don't have any AA either and that will bite you in the arse as you WILL meet some night scythes, vendettas, drakes or some other flier that will tear stuff up and you can't do anything about. One death company in a land raider has always gone really well for me, so long as I can keep it in cover, and really distracts the enemy while you advance with razorbacks and are deep striking infantry. A stormraven w/ lascannons is a must for a list 1500 or over and two razorbacks is great with an assault squad w/ flamer to hold an objective. If you want to kill MEQs take dante and some sanguinary guard as they will quite literally tear them up. Land raider death company is good and Baals are great to put pressure on the opposition force them to keep their infantry back for a few turns. I don't think that MSUs of death company will soak up as much as you think, considering FNP only works 1 in 3 times. Best just use some S.priests on assault squads to make the equivalent of a death company that can hold objectives.
