I'm new to guard and I need help making a 1500pt list. I want to go tank heavy and competitive but don't have everything that I see in most lists available to me.

Here are the models I have to work with
Company command squad
2 platoon command squads
enough extra special weapons for 2 special weapons squads
40 guardsmen, roughly (some with special weapons)
8 missile launcher teams
3 lascannon teams
10 stormtroopers
10 veterans, harker
3 leman russ battle tanks
2 demolishers
1 exterminator

I also have stuff for allied detachments:
GK strike squad, terminators, inquisitors, a few henchmen and a storm raven

Any suggestions?

I don't think you could do much more than what Maj suggested, if you aren't buying more. Really I'd just take every model you got and see what size list you come up with. Combining all your stuff should be a fairly cohesive army.

you could create a pretty decent 1000 point list out of these parts. obviously you couldn't take everything, but you could take two demolishers if you didn't take the storm troopers and fiddled around with the troop choices.

Well, personally I would only field 5 of the stormtroopers and take 2 meltaguns out of the 10. The extra bodies tend not to really.... eh. You can take better options with those 80 points. Fit some of your other models in.

Other than that, I think your collection is your list pal.

Thanks for all the help, I may just try Maj's list out tomorrow, although I've been contemplating just going crazy and using as many leman russ as possible but that would just be for fun, I know it wouldn't be that effective.
