Hey 40k Roleplayers,

Recently my friends and I have gotten into Dark Heresy and we are really enjoying it. We've had maybe half a dozen sessions so far with 4-7 people including the GM, but the core group is just 4 of us. A few days ago our GM was talking about perhaps rotating the job of GM and also having multiple PC's for each person. For instance, the crew has several characters but only 3 get sent on a mission at a time, sort of like Mass Effect. That way each of us could have a couple characters and also try our hand at GM if we wanted.

I was just wondering if anyone has played this way before and if they have any feedback on how it has worked out?

Cheers.

Was expecting to use the DH rules for Mass Effect. am disappointed :(

(that would be one grimdark mass effect game...I'd use Traveler for Mass Effect personally...but I'm getting distracted).

With how lethal DH can seem to be I think having a few characters per player could be a good idea. That way if something bad happens you can switch to the next one until the other character recovers from injuries/a new recruit joins (i.e. roll a new character).

And rotating GMs could be fun. Get lots of different styles and each person can prep extra hard for their adventures because they don't run one every meeting. It might not be so good for an ongoing campaign though, since the style and storyline might end up kind of conflicting.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!
