Only 35 models. I know it is not the best list ive ever made (probably on the other end of the spectrum lol), it does however feel fun! Plus not everyone will be prepared for two t5 w4 2+/3++/6(fnp) IWND chap masters AND Mephiston. As well as having the firepower to deal with 3 flyers.

Sternies, furioso and bikes to put the pressure on turn1 and just hope to roll at least reasonably for reserves. Scouts and the assault squad im hoping may just get overlooked due to all the major threats. I do not mind simply hiding these all game.

2 heros can deal with MCs (the non EW chapmaster will stay away from these), 2 can deal with teq (alas not mephiston) and all 3 can deal with anything else.

I would rather the chapmaster with ES have a thunderhammer and the furioso have magna grapple and meltagun rather than a hf but I cant seem to find the spare 10pts. Any suggestions?

I see your problem being hordes of infantry. Give your furioso Blood Talons and use those points to give your Chapter Master his Thunder Hammer. Also, the dread will not earn back it's points on the turn it drops with a frag cannon and Heavy Flamer. It would if it had melta/magna, but vehicles are really not your concern. So I say give it talons then it either whifs completely, by being shot off the board before it does anything, which happens sometimes with any unit, or it actually earns it's points and serves a very valid purpose in such an elite list

Good point! Dropping the hf and changing to bt saves 10pts. Thats points for an upgrade to TH and auspex!

Not to put all your eggs in one basket but that dread might be placed better on the Raven.

As a talon dread I most certainly agree. Lots of upsides including the charge and freeing up 35pts. Only issue is i'll be totally screwed rather than slightly screwed if the raven doesn't show till late game.

Yeah, I'd keep the pod. That way it's a threat on turn 1 (lest it destroys an entire infantry platoon or Boyz mob on turn 2) that draws attention away from your bikes and sternguard which will very likely draw a lot of fire since they're still dangerous even after they take out their primary target. And trust me, the Furioso will still get plenty of attacks even without the charge and he doesnt get anything else from getting the charge.

Really, a talon dread is happier than a pig in mud once he gets into combat with anything that doesn't have a 2+ save. The only thing that would be really bad is if the dread takes one too many lascannons to the face. And if you deploy right, they'll be forced to try and charge the dread to "destroy it" and outshoot the shooty sternguard. You can get them to play right into your hands

True. I do need to put down as many threats turn1 as possible, and he would cover the sternies as you say. If deploying from a pod and keeping the talons, I would definitely want a magna grapple. I think I may drop the auspex and 1 combi-melta from the sternies to afford it...

I agree with the dropping a combi melta. In my experience, 2 meltas isn't enough and 4 is too many for one squad and is usually overkill. 3 is the sweet spot.
