Hey Dakka! So, some of my friends were planning on playing apocalypse, and I would love to field orks in the battle. I have quite a few models and would be willing to make some conversions to my current models in preparation for the coming battle. Since this is a friendly game, we are also allowing some proxies, and I am scratch building a stompa. This is where you all come in. I have never really played apoc, and am pretty stumped as to what to field in an Ork apoc army since so much stuff can essentially one shot whole squads. What are some fun things to include, but are also pretty deadly?

Stompa, nob bikers, boyz, Battlewagon formation (with boys innside) Tankbustas!

just played a 3k apoc doubles game (6k total), my half consisted of 5 battlewagons, 2 with slugga boyz, 1 with shoota boyz, 1 with meganobz and 1 with nobz. couple of tooled up warbosses and a mekboy with kff. 6 deff koptas,all ran as separate units, 3 buggies, again separate units, and 3 dakkajet. did pretty well. just make sure wagons have got rollas, and go in formation. if I remember correctly, (first apoc game),rollas get to reroll d6 impact hits if in formation + normal bonuses for spearhead,broadsword etc

I haven't played apoc but I hear a lot of whinging about str D super pieplates that just erase the board. Sounds pretty crap to me - maybe fliers can get around it?

What I'd be running though is Ghazzy's Bully Boyz + a Battlewagon formation, or alternatively, a Green Tide - through in a Big Mek and a Painboss and woah, 5+ cover and 5+ FNP on a fleet, fearless blob of 300 dudes

The Dread Mob also looks like fun, but I doubt it'd be that great in the face of pie plates of doom
