Hi everyone,

Looking for a good affordable online source for things like small plants, mushrooms, alien foliage etc to do some basing on an army and simultanously decorate a corresponding battlefield terrain.

Anyone have some ideas?

You could look into aquarium decoration.

If you want small round rocks I found that silica gel works quite well(the stuff in bags used as dessicant). Roll it round (a whole bag- emptied onto a surface.) in pva /white glue , rolling every few minutes to stop it sticking then let it dry. Repeat the same process with grey craft paint and you have made about 60-100 small round stones.

If you want foliage look at plants around you, especially at seeds, and the tips of the leaves, if you find one you like dry it , seal it and paint it, and varnish it.
