Greetings.
Want to join you because I have some questions. Right now I'm working on forgeworld's praetor of Iron Warriors legion. As I know, the main armour color is dark metallic. I commonly use Vallejo acrylics so I decided to mix dark grey with Metal Medium in different proportions and simply dark metallic color. The results were not very fine, just many sparkling dots, nothing like real metal surface. I've read something about achieveing metal look of surface without using any metallics, but didn't succeded with it. Can you please describe me some other metal painting techniques?
Here's the praetor. Just some airbrush preshading.
